We improved our O line through the draft. Maybe the D line is next?
That was the meaning of "Especially Dallas"..Serious doubt Houston would go for the trade. The point really was if the Cowboys really want to improve the Defense a trade may make the most sense. The club has some offensive players, previously mentioned, thay COULD be combined for a serious Defensive upgrade.but texans dont even need a wr, do they?
This is far from honest....it's balderpoop....
-Hatcher enjoyed by far his best season under Marinelli with 11 sacks.
-Spencer missed the entire 2013 season with bad knee injury...never did anything for anyone after that.
i am not assuming a trade up to the top 5.
i am only talking about a trade up to getting something in the mid 1st.
i have assumed the FO is flexible and adaptable like new england.
not stuck in their ways.
may be i gave them too much credit
i have my own reasons for posting the model projections.
i will definitely be building something that compares what happened and what could have happened.
in 2018, after draft picks, there is likely inadequtae roster space for many if any steve-o specials.
they were so good with filling the roster up with below average players that it may be full.
for top cbs, that is 13m aav with a much lower 1st year cap impact.
i have said a million times that cap in 2018-2021 is plentiful.
2017 simply needed a little work to restructure the space from the plentiful years.
i would have preferred Carr over Carroll for the same $.
prince a's contract was $7m one year only.
you could have bought the year needed to reduce the burden on the 2017 draft.
or you could have offered prince a multi-year to put the issue to bed for a few years.
And what about Ware?
You draft a corner and have Amukamara on your roster and he is a progress stopper or waste of money. How much you want to bet that they draft a corner in the first 3 rounds?
There were no war daddies worth going after.
There is tons of roster turnover; most of those $550k guys listed now are not going to make it out of camp. There will always be room for Steve-o specials.

It was sad watching him battle through that quad injury his final year here.
So when a guy plays hurt he's doomed here? Can't get anything from him if he's hurt? Ware was hurt under Wade and got something from him.
Word around the camp fire is that DTs don't generally impact the sport as much as other positions...so they generally don't get drafted in the first round.
That's a league-wide shift in philosophy...hardly unique to Rod M.
Four went in the first round in 2016, so no.
Yeah, four went in the first round, they arent as worthless as fullbacks. No matter what way you want to slant it.Not one DT was drafted in top 11 in 2016.
Not one DT was drafted in top 11 in 2015.
Not one DT was drafted in top 12 in 2014
Notice the pattern?
And unless a DT is expected to do something as a disruptor in pass rush he won't get drafted in the first two rounds.
Tough to do when he is already a Bear.no you misunderstood.
sign Amuk for one year and draft DL this year.
if you sign Amuk for multiple years, then no need to draft a cb in 2018
