Why don't we put Sam out there? See what he can do

Jerry cares about the press and perception, once the national media narrative becomes a massive emphasis about how abysmal the pass rush is you won't see much tinkering. Maybe once Brees throws for 400+ and 3TDs because the pass rush was nonexistent and that's all the talking heads talk about for a few days will Red and Jerry start tinkering.

Prob right. The tackle and guard would trip over each other and the captain would have a free shot at the QB.

More like Jeter would make "a move" thereby creating his own free shot at QB ;-)

Do you any Jeter-types on orioles yet?

I dont think so. We've pretty much got guys that have range at their position in the field and I cant think of any that routinely get cheap hit bloopers and seeing eye ground balls.

If our coaches can't evaluate who the best guy is during the week, I think that is the problem. everything else would be shuffling deck chairs on the titanic.

I bet Jeter has more cheap hits all by himself than every other member of the 3000 hit club combined. Just sayn'

Ready as opposed to who? This D-Line didn't even sniff the QB this past Sunday. Seriously- if we don't start getting pressure on the QB, we may have won our last game of the season. All other ends of the defense have been at least serviceable SAVE for the D-Line.

Is the D-Line better than last year? Maybe only because the depth of jags is better than the street free-agents we rolled out in rotation last year.

That's the ONLY way it's better. A touch better against opposing run game.

With McClain in the line-up, it's serviceable. Without him the warts show in neon.

Overreact much?

when he earns it, he gets his shot, and not before...until then, you don't bring him up to sit on the bench as the media circus would be mind-boggling

Why would we want to even consider Sam when our stud franchise player from the past 2 seasons, who was part of the strength of this defense (DL), Spencer the Savior is close to defying all and coming back soon from microfracture?

That's not true. Crawford got pressure. And there was pressure from Wilber, in part, on the blitz that ended up in Carter's pick-6 on Sunday.

So there is hope? We might win another game or two?

The coaches get to see all of these guys everyday and if they don't feel that he is good enough to be on the 53 then why are arm chair fans screaming to put this guy on the field?

because like backup QBs, people always think that PS players can do a better job. ;)

I believe that was an innocent word choice issue, but, as with every Sam thread, please know there's zero tolerance for quips about the man's sexual orientation.
