First off, a toast to the rose-colored crowd, those of you that thought that the last few games didn't mean that much for the playoffs, and that anything could happen. It does: but most of it is generally bad. Your optimism was admirable, but perhaps a bit misplaced.

To the win-at-all-costs crowd: I hope you don't live your own lives that way. Over time, you may find it lands you in the homeless shelter.

The playoffs are about exposing weaknesses, and we had several: penalties, coverage problems, lack of consistent pressure, and instability at QB. They all reappeared to varying degrees.

I'm still glad Tony Romo played the game, so that he can see that the schoolyard approach really doesn't work. I only hope he rededicates himself to improving his technique and decision-making. If not, he'll only be a footnote in an otherwise forgettable era. I think he'll learn, but only time will tell.

To the Bledsoe crowd: I'm confident you'll be saying I told you so. Well I'm telling you: there's no way to prove he'd make any difference. My opinion is that the game would have been more like 17-10. The tiger doesn't change his stripes after spending much of the season on the bench.

I think we're seeing that Parcells is not that capable of motivating today's player. In that respect, the game has moved on, while he has not. He may not factor this game into his decision, but he should. It's probably time to go back to the booth.

I also think Roy Williams needs to rededicate himself. At the least, spend some serious time talking with Darren Woodson, and decide if you're up to the task. That, or the team needs to find a better way to utilize him to minimize his weaknesses. He doesn't tackle or cover so much as hit.

It will be an interesting offseason, and I don't think Seattle will be part of it that much longer, but kudos to them for making fewer mistakes.

In several ways, this game was a microcosm of the season. It definitely looked like two 9-7 teams out there.

Flame on.
