Why has the offense gone so far down hill?

In Dallas' 4 wins with rush, they have averaged 23 points. A lot of that was trying to run the clock out with a lead.

Including and after the Denver game last year, Dallas averaged 24 points per game if you take out the Philly and Washington blowouts. Some people take those games as meaningful, others look at them as teams who were just mailing it in.

Dallas averaged 32 per game before the Denver game last year. That was truly the #1 offense everyone cites. IMHO, Denver really did figure something out and Dallas has never got past it.

Dak also got hurt last year and played through injury…numbers dipped after that about halfway through the season.

If he comes back and is truly healthy the debate on who to play is laughable to me.

Personally I think Dak is clearly better than Rush.

With that said, I hope that everyone from Dak to McCarthy and Kellen have learned a lesson here. If the team doesn't hang the defense out to dry, the defense is fantastic and can win you games. Dallas needs to not make stupid mistakes, no turnovers and hold the ball. Eventually they will score. I hope to see more of rookie year Dak where he protected the ball and drove the bus with a lot more snaps under center to set up play action or to just give the RB more room to run.

I would rather see the team win games 24-10 with Dak than lose them 35-31. There is no reason to take most of your snaps out of shotgun and pass it virtually every down . . . even if you get behind.

Yup…want Dak to stay aggressive but know it’s ok to throw the ball away and live to see another day.

That is one that drives me crazy, when he scrambles and runs out of bounds for a 1 yard loss even..Throw the fricken ball away once outside the marks....Check downfield but put it in the stands if nothing is there.

Huh? The starting QB is hurt. Top receiver coming back from knee surgery. The backup has done well but he isn’t good. The folks that suggest he is better are beyond moronic. A healthy Dak will make a massive difference.

A big part is Amari. But lets face it for the first 3 games you lost 3 of the 4 WR that you had on last years team. Even at that though, there were 9 games last year that Dak did not pass for over 250 yards per game. Then if you want to throw in turnovers and pts off turnovers - last year was incredible from that perspective

More than half of the games in 2021, Amari was a non factor. He disappeared.

why do you think Ceedee, Wilson and Schultz ate last year? Amari is always factor regardless if his QB is throwing to him or not.

He wasn’t on the field as much in 2021, and most people sensed a disconnect at some point. It happened with the Raiders, too. I just think Lamb, Gallup, and Brown are more than adequate if KM calls the right plays.

Lamb, Gallup, Brown and Washington is still a better WR room than most teams in the NFL have.

You mean Dak did not throw it to him right? I love these Amari dissapeared arguments - DAk could not see him I guess - he was the invisible man - Dak afraid of the coverage or could not hit him in time!

Dak would rather dump it off to a mediocre tight end make him seem like the next Witten than throw it to his playmaker

Cooper is overrated. It's not just Dak, he's been hot and cold at home and on the road throughout his career. Dak at least helped him get rid of his Stone Hands nickname.

We were a top three offense last year. Now we’re what, 26th? Amari Cooper doesn’t make THAT MUCH difference, but when you add the loss of Tyron Smith, Dak being out the last four weeks, and Gallup missing the first couple of games, is that enough?

So when Dak and Peters and Washington all come back, how much difference will it make?
kind of answered your own question.
Tyler Smith and mcgovern getting better every week
Gallup just getting started
love Rush but Dak the man

remember: first 7 games last year, there was serious consideration Dak MVP

I enjoy these Amari disappeared arguments too. Those that don’t like Dak have something else to use to “validate” their disdain. When he first got here, Dak could see him just fine. I liked him a lot, and he was a real playmaker. He a had a knack for getting open. But I think KM adjusted the play calling slightly and Amari disconnected—just like he did with the Raiders.

It’s weird how it changes year to year. We took the NFCE comfortably in 2021 with a 12-5 record. Imagine if we end up with 13 or 14 wins, but because of Philly’s cake schedule, we only get the Wild Card.
