Garcia has been quoted thusly: "I was surprised I wasn't offered a contract. There was never anything to negotiate over."
He seems perplexed. Frankly, many fans are, too.
Garcia gave the Eagles the best chance to win and the Eagles have signed that McFeely or Feely, whatever. What is that all about? McFlabb will stink it up and the eagles will have themselves to blame.
But . . . hey, it's all good if the Eagles are winning less.
Their loss is . . . their loss and somebody else's gain.
blahhhhhh-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!
And, hey, stay off that Campbell's Chunk Soup. It will make you fat and fatheaded. :)

"event" = your response to my posts = weak

He clearly didnt want team to win without him. His momma had reservations about the posibility. Want to dispute that?

Let's be very precise about what you're trying to say. It is very CLEAR that McNabb didn't want the team to do well without him because:

A. He was looking at photos on the sideline during a playoff game and Garcia had to ask to see them.

B. He gave only a "weak arse" fist pump when Akers kicked the game winning FG in said playoff game.

C. His mother, his mother, said it would be "bittersweet" for her if the Eagles won the Superbowl while her son was injured.

Those three things are your evidence that McNabb "clearly" didn't want the team to win without him. Futhermore, you'll notice that Exhibit A was an event you didn't even recall correctly when (twice, two times) making the assertion that Garcia STATED McNabb was causing problems with the team.

I've watched him since Syracuse, he always finds excuses when he fails, and when the cards on the table, he fails. Always someone else's fault. Poor Donovan if someone blames him.

Pansy.

Do you watch the guy ? He is a pretender with athletic ability.

Seeing as how you've followed him so closely, perhaps you could provide a quote to backup your statements. You know, just one of those escuses that he ALWAYS makes. Seeing as how he ALWAYS makes them, you should be able to come up with a concrete example.

Seeing as how there already are a multitude of threads to banter of the goodness/evilness of McNabb, I should have just ignored that topic and addressed the topic at hand.

According to Garcia, he wasn't even offered a contract. Yet, his agent asked the Eagles for a 5 day waiting period after free agency so Garcia could gather offers to weigh against the Eagles' offer.

The Eagles decided not to wait, and signed the guy who was ready to sign, that being Feeley.

It has been reported that Garcia, when he was signed, was promised the starting job if McNabb went down. Similarly, it has been said that Feeley was promised the same starting in 2007. When McNabb went down this year, the Eagles stuck to their promise to Garcia... despite the wishes of most Eagle fans. Similarly, they are sticking to their promise to Feeley. If Garcia was to resign, it would be as a 3rd stringer, which I don't think he'd like.

When McNabb went down, I wanted Feeley to be named the starter. Most Eagles fans did. I still think he's the right choice. You all may or may not disagree, but the proof will be in the pudding. What kind of offers are going to be out there for Jeff? If he's as good as many of you seem to think, he'll get some serious attention. Furthermore, how good is Feeley? If McNabb can't start the season (as many of you seem to be assuming) we'll get to see for sure.

We don't need to "see" how good Garcia is - he proved it last year.

He took the team that the thin-skinned crybaby could only get to .500.

The one that was in a tailspin at 4-4.

He took that team to win the division and advance in the playoffs, while the whiner watched.

And now that some had the audacity to suggest Garcia could actually play and maybe lead the team?

"Well, he's got to go!"

Nobody could dare challenge McFatty on "his" team!?!?!?

People can blame last year's situation completely on Owens if they want.

But when he chases a second guy out of town, it's no longer a coincidence.

Have fun coddling him and his ego!

And moves like these are why.......

Thats ok... you go ahead and be naive.... the trainwreck called the Philadelphia Eagles has a lead car named Donovan McNabb.

Yes, the most reasonable explanation for why the Eagles didn't resign a 37 year old player who was the best backup in the NFL and reached free agency is because they don't want to hurt McNabb's feelings.

I wonder who's feelings they were protecting when they did the same thing to similarly popular players coming off "MVP" seasons:
Jeremiah Trotter
Carlos Emmons
Duce Staley
Corey Simon

None were offered contracts, but were similarly told to go find out what their market value is and come back with an offer themselves. Because with the Eagles it's not about the money, it's about their favorite players' feelings. Right? I mean, there's history to back that up yeah? Watch how a similar pattern holds for Donte Stallworth. I've heard they're quite concerned about Reggie Brown's emotions.

Ah, yes, the trainwreck that has been the Philadelphia Eagles under Donovan McNabb. Horrifying.

even received a contract offer from the Eagles FO? Why this subject doesn't deal with Cowboys, it is related to NFC East competition and which I find really strange.

I can understand if Garcia was asking for too much money to be the backup to McNabb & Eagles unwilling pony up. But their failure to even make an offer to Garcia gotta be upsetting to their fans. Frankly if Garcia could function in our offensive system, I'd take him as Romo's backup any day. After all the purpose of having a backup is getting a QB who understands his backup role and can step in if the starter is injuried.

I've got the feeling Garcia was too successful in replacing McNabb & taking the team to the playoffs and so HRH McNabb's ego couldn't deal with it. I suppose the Eagle FO (Reid) has bowed to pressure from McNabb but what happens when McNabb gets hurt again this year? Believe me as a Cowboy fan, I wouldn't suffer any pain at the thought (not saying I want see him get hurt) but believe their lack of interest in re-signing Garacia wouldn't play well with their fans & the team when it happens.

Another media creation..

They don't even let McNabb talk in Philly, why should I believe he's now making personnel decisions? Fact is Feeley is every bit the fan favorite Garcia was. Why would they resign Feeley If McNabb is so sensitive to that?

No, its pure Eagles FO. I'll even go as far as saying McNabb will miss his TO bashing counterpart, Garcia. When you go through being the QB of TO, its a bonding experience for the survivors ;)

I think this McNabb bashing from my fellow Cowboy fans stems from a need to defend, and justify the signing of our own personal cancer, and all around turd, TO. When he's thrown out of Dallas I'm sure the tone will change.

Trust me, I think most of us had our opinion of McNabb long before Owens came to Dallas, .. I know I did.
