Why hasn't Eagle backup QB Jeff Garcia...

even received a contract offer from the Eagles FO? Why this subject doesn't deal with Cowboys, it is related to NFC East competition and which I find really strange.

I can understand if Garcia was asking for too much money to be the backup to McNabb & Eagles unwilling pony up. But their failure to even make an offer to Garcia gotta be upsetting to their fans. Frankly if Garcia could function in our offensive system, I'd take him as Romo's backup any day. After all the purpose of having a backup is getting a QB who understands his backup role and can step in if the starter is injuried.

I've got the feeling Garcia was too successful in replacing McNabb & taking the team to the playoffs and so HRH McNabb's ego couldn't deal with it. I suppose the Eagle FO (Reid) has bowed to pressure from McNabb but what happens when McNabb gets hurt again this year? Believe me as a Cowboy fan, I wouldn't suffer any pain at the thought (not saying I want see him get hurt) but believe their lack of interest in re-signing Garacia wouldn't play well with their fans & the team when it happens.

There was talk of a divided locker room with some favoring Garcia. And no this didnt play out well with fans with talk that McFlab may not be ready for the opener. I got several phone calls from friends back in Philly still (I'm in Memphis now thank gawd...) and none were pleased.

They kept saying crap about McFlabs momma being involved even for christs sake??? Thats just a rumor not fact !

Sounds to me like McNabb (for all he and Eagles FO claim it's his team and he's the Eagles leader) doesn't inspire some of his teammates. Given his level of play over the years you would think there'd be some loyalty to him within the lockerrom; certainly a divided lockerroom should not have happened in that short a timeframe if everything had been kosher between McNabb & his teammates. Either there's some bad apples in their lockerroom or his personality/attitude/contract/level of play doesn't set well with some of the players.

McNabb/ T.O. = divided locker room
McNabb/Garcia = divided locker room

see a pattern here?

well lets get him ,we need some more personalities here, besides he'd be good at getting back at the Eaglets, they forget without him they wouldn't have gone anywhere with McFlab hurt, this guy wouldn't be bad as a back up, he sure came in and played well when it counted..

IMO, they would have been better with Garcia and trading McNabb.

Yep, McNabb is talented athelte, but a pansy that can't handle competition or adversity.

I have coached guys like him.

And I have coached guys that are like, .. "bring it on."

Guess which one is more fun to coach.

Ah, a pansy. Somehow I think the sum of his performances in adverse conditions (i.e. not just the ones he lost), and the fact that he played a game on a broken ankle, might contradict the perception that he is a "pansy". Then again, you think you can psycho-analyze behavior through the limited window into McNabb's mind that TV provides.

The Eagles FO did have a standing offer to Garcia, albeit a cheap one. They gave him a deadline. The deadline passed and they extended Feeley.

The issue is that Garcia stated he did not want to backup McNabb. he wanted a shot at starting, he wanted the eagles organization to let him know if McNabb would get the nod to start when injury healed without competing with him. Since that was the case he is going elsewhere, the money isnt the main issue.

Nowhere has Garcia publicly intimated that his next job must be a starting position. He's only said that he wants to be with a "contending" team. The entire issue with the Eagles is money. He's an old player coming off a career season (as a backup) entering free agency. Not a player the Eagles are famous for signing.

I've watched him since Syracuse, he always finds excuses when he fails, and when the cards on the table, he fails. Always someone else's fault. Poor Donovan if someone blames him.

Pansy.

Do you watch the guy ? He is a pretender with athletic ability.

I love how you defend TO and yet attack McNabb. Despite the fact he did get them to the SB without having TO on the field. Yes I have watched him play alot of see him tourch the crap out of us even before TO went to philly. McNabb in my opinion is not the best QB in the league but he is one of the top QB's and has done so without having top WR for most of his NFL career. It is too funny how you will blame everyone under the sun regarding TO yet attack McNabb and somehow I have a feeling if McNabb was on this team you be defending him just as you have TO.

yes he has said that he didnt want to play for the eagles if he did not have a fair shot at competeing for starting position, he said it before SB.

Got them to the Super Bowl?, .. yea and how did that turn out? With McChunky choking and blowing chunks in crunch time. The end of the Super Bowl, the defining moment in his career, and he folded.

Here is just one example of the true DM.

Against us last year he scores and does the moon walk in the EZ, but later after throwing the game losing pick-6 to Roy, he is hurt and can't get up.:laugh2:

Pansy. I've seen that reaction from kids in youth sports. He probably has been doing that since way back then.

Why is there another divided lockerroom with him? Must not be the leader some would have us believe.

When it's going good, he is one way, but when the chips are down, so is he.

If Romo would have faked hurt after the botched snap I would have said the same about him, but he didn't, .. he got up and faced it like a man.

Listen, if you want to root for McNabb, that's fine. I see through him and choose not to.

(I didn't even go to the TO part because you don't even read my posts about that anyway)

I don't care about McNabb one way or the other but I do find it funny how you attack McNabb and coddle TO all the time, it is very obvious what your doing, by attacking McNabb you justify TO actions as some victim. As for McNabb I don't think he is the best but his numbers clearly show him as one of the top QB in today’s game and has done this despite having few top WR at his disposal.
