In the last two decades, the teams that start red hot are almost never the ones who win a ring. Sure the e-girls are 9-0 but mark me down as a doubter they are the team of destiny.

My theory as to why teams that start hot have a very hard time winning the SB is this- the season is too long and the competition too close to maintain that level of dominance. The teams that win SBs the last two decades tend to be the ones who peak at the right time.

Evidence of my point- look at all the SB winners the last two decades that struggled at some point during the reg season:
  • 2021 Rams- were 6-4 after 10 games, then got hot all the way to the SB even though they did not have the coveted #1 seed. In fact, they were the #4 seed.
  • 2020 Bucs- were 7-5 after 12 games, did not win their division but were hot at the end of the season and it carried them all the way to a Lombardi. Btw, they were the #5 seed.
  • 2019 chiefs- were 6-4 after 10 games. Mahomes was only in his 3rd season and was still figuring out some things. Like the previous two teams, they got hot at the right time.
  • 2018 Pats- were 9-5 in early December that year and finished as the AFC’s #2 seed. But they won their last 5 games all the way to their last SB win.
  • 2015 broncos were 10-4 in December that year, including a stretch between early Nov to mid Dec where they were 3-4. But they got hot down the stretch winning their last 5 including the SB.
  • 2012 ravens were 9-5 in mid Dec and barely won their division. Again, they got hot at the right time.
This could go on….point is, the team that gets hot when it matters most is almost always the SB champ. Can the e-girls stay red hot all season? History says an emphatic NO.
They may not win the NFC, but going 17-0 or 16-1 is a real reg season possibility. I don’t see them falling off on the regular season because they are doing it mostly with the run game, good defense, and a few big passes. That type of game doesn’t usually slump against inferior opponents the way a heavy passing game might. The Eagles continue to value the OL and DL above all else, even when it’s already a strength. Smart. Beating them will require a team with a stout run defense, a capable secondary, and it’s own above average OL, IMO.

we will get better just having a healthy team and all our key starters back. Dak and this offense will get better each game and its already showing.

A big key in that regard is Gallup. He's really just now getting back to full health, but he has to regain timing with Dak, that may take another game or two.

I read today that Zeke is practicing but he said he's not sure he'll be ready for the GB game. Ferguson didn't practice, Wilson was limited, as was Noah Brown. Of course that could be all smoke and mirrors, though for some reason Dallas doesn't often play the "he's hurt" but he's really not game as much as some teams.

But we'll see....

We Cowboys in 2016, had the best record in the NFC during Dak & Zeke rookie year,
had a win streak like 8 in a row, ..Won the NFC East, and home field advantage in playoffs,
yet we were exited out of the playoffs, on our own home field,.. by the very QB we're gonna face this Sunday.

" Any given Sunday"..., ..and " this is why we actually play the game " ..

I'm not to be trusting in history and trend and stats,..but more trusting in man on man, our best vs their best, team discipline, coach vs coach, and teams that
are clutch when all the stakes are on the table.
It was 11 straight wins

If we improve our run defence I think this team finally gets to the Super Bowl…just a gut feeling…

I think it's more than that. I also think the offense has to continue their upward trajectory and show they aren't prone to the disappearing acts we saw down the stretch last year like we did against the Cards, 49ers, etc.

Here is something that really bothers me. We won the division last year so we expect to see a schedule this year that is fitting of a division winner. The egirls however, did not finish in last place and in fact made the playoffs as a wild card team. How is it that they have the easiest schedule in the NFL and ours is one of hardest. This just doesn't make any sense. We would be 8-0 too if we had a schedule as easy as theirs.

It's based on last year's record and order of finish. It is what it is. People need to stop whining about something that has been in place for years. And no, there is no guarantee that we would be 8-0 with their schedule. It is a week-to-week league. No one can predict now every single game will go. Every game is an independent event. No team runs the exact same plays in sequence.

the best team is 4-4? LOL....san fran has no QB! maybe san fran scare you as a cowboy fan, because they beat you soundly last year.
They are more physical than Dallas.

By a wide margin.

It’s not even close. I don’t care what their record is right now. They are better than Dallas. Especially when healthy.

Tillery is an up and down guy. Even going back to his time at ND. At times he can look downright dominant. Other times, he just seems to float through a game. I'd kick the tires on him because of the upside but I suspect someone else will put a claim in before us.

Out of 17 games, only 3 games are different between the two schedules.

Cowboys lost to Bucs (currently 4-5), Eagles play Saints (currently 3-6)

Cowboys beat Bengals (currently 5-4), Eagles beat Steelers (currently 2-6)

Cowboys beat Rams (currently 3-5), Eagles beat Cards (currently 3-6)

Out of the 3 different games, the Cowboys are 2-1, the Eagles are 2-0. At worst the 3 difference games cost the Cowboys 1 game in the standings. If the Eagles lose to the Saints it's a wash.

Other than playing each other twice, both teams play Washington twice, Giants twice, Vikings, Bears, Packers, Lions, Titans, Jags, Colts, and Texans. The schedules aren't that different.

Eagles are 28th in the league in penalites. Cowboys are 9th, are also tied for 6th in false starts, tied for first in offsides penalties.

Quit shooting ourselves in the foot and we'll do better....

How can that be? It's like 2 games different and we got a down LA and Tampa team.

I stand corrected. You are right. I guess I just bought into the hype that the only reason the egirls are doing as good as they are is because of their easy schedule. My bad.

Sorry, my bad. I got caught up in the narrative that the only reason the egirls are undefeated is because they have the league's easiest schedule. That happens when you hold so much distain for a team that it impacts your ability to see things clearly.

A team that was perceived as great last year (rams for instance) might be bad this year. Shoot, a team all the whiners might perceive as a cupcake right now, might be playing great 6 weeks from now.

Who knows...maybe by the time we play the Eagles, our season will have deteriorated to the point where WE'RE the gimme game for them...or vice versa.

People whining about scheduling is as pathetic and loser-ish as people whining that the refs hate their teams. It makes us cowboy fans look like a bunch of whining, sniveling, weak kneed, YMCA leather pants wearing, goofy rodeo dorks. Our stupid looking cowboy hat wearing team physician and unnerving male cheerleaders already give us a sassy enough look...let's not make it worse ourselves
