he and austin are both gone...

time to restore the star

players like spencer and ratliff played jerry like a drum.

as much as i can't stand jerry being the gm..

one thing he does that other teams don't is keeping players for the long haul he likes.

people like rat and spencer take advntage instead of being faithful.

What the hell are you talking about? The guy had knee surgery on a significant injury, he didn't quit. He's been both reasonably durable and productive before this year. Not wanting him signed for business reasons is 1 thing, but that little rant you posted is misguided, and quite frankly stupid.

I honestly wouldn't even want him back. Crawford is coming back. Selvie and Ware will be here. We'll also have Wilber. We can only play so many DEs. I think we draft a DE in 1st or 2nd round to play second string for a year before replacing Ware. We need some guys at DT. We should be thinking about Hatcher, not Spencer.

No one is going to sign Anthony Spencer to a long term deal next year at a price he will want. His best bet is to resign with us for a very small amount. Maybe 2 or 3 million dollars. Try to have a great year, and get a 3 or 4 year deal made for him going forward. Either way it helps buy us time. I'm not against paying him 2 or 3 million if he can pass a physical. Even if he gets hurt, it wouldn't cripple us. The name of the game is buy low sell high. We could also potentially trade him next year after signing a manageable contract.

Exactly, Dallas is the best place for him to get an incentive based contract and try to rebuild his value. Dallas will need a DE no matter what, it will be best for both sides to work out something for him to get a one year contract here.

And I love Selvie but he has never played a full season in the NFL, lets see how he holds up physically over the course of a season before we decide he is a starter for the long term. IMO he will end up being an awesome rotational DE but I have real concerns about him holding up over an entire season.

I think our "need" for a DE is being overblown. Ware WILL play at least one more year. No way he doesn't start either. Selvie likely starts next year too. Wilber will be a reserve. Crawford will be back. We need to draft Ware's replacement. We don't need any more stopgaps. DT needs to be addressed. A trade for Gerald McCoy would be awesome.

Guys coming off microfracture never cost much. Don't confuse him with Ratliff. Spencer wanted to play he just couldn't

I dont think anybody is suggesting that Spencer is faking his injury like Ratt was, I think everybody is just saying that the price tag is going to be too high for a player coming off that kind of injury.

Now if he takes an incentive laden contract as a "show me" contract............maybe we can work something out.

everyone is talking about not giving him a long-term deal because of his injury and age...I say that his age is what is going to motivate him to try to get a 3-year deal from someone...at his age, he doesn't have a lot of time left, and playing on a 1-year deal doesn't sound like a good idea to me if I am him...so, if someone likes him enough, he will be gone...

...and, like others have said, if we are doling out a 3-year deal to an aging DLineman, I am giving it to Hatch...he has anchored the D this year despite all of the turmoil and turnover....you don't really hear that Ware has been the glue that is holding that patchwork unit together (and I love Ware)....

I think what you are missing is that no one is interested at him at a high price.

Spencer will only get one-year deal as teams see if that injury has downgraded his ability. It seems like Spencer has played most of his career on one-year deals.

Are you going to make any more stupid posts? Id love to hear year logic on why you would trash Spencer and compare him to Ratliff.
