Wait... how did the Eagles play the Bucs three times in one season? Unless I'm misunderstanding.

My fault, that was an error. I was ust saying that usually the team who lost the last game in the regular has the advantage if they meet again in the playoffs

I said that because I feel that they would be more PUMPED after a loss in a game that is do or die. The Eagles play better on the road for some reason.

Are you a heavy pot user?

No but I may have to be if the Eagles win on sunday

At least you have a sense of humor. I know where you were going with this CowboysFanSince88 but look at it this way. We shouldn't have to rely on the Vikings or some other teams winning and or losing. The best teams are good enough and don't sweat those what ifs.

I think the reason some including me have reacted to your thread because it is all about playing hard and smart at this juncture. If we beat the Eagles this Sunday, we can stay at home and hopefully beat them again.

We already have proven we can go to a very hostile stadium and beat one of the top 3 teams in the entire NFL.

Because we HAVE to win on Sunday now whereas before it was a throw away game because it was another game with the same team the next week. I feel that from a fan's perspective, it would be very hard to beat the eagles two weeks in a row so I kind of wanted to see us lose on sunday and go to the Linc the next week and knock the eagles out of the playoffs. See to me that was the BIGGER PICTURE because we all know winning the NFC EAST means nothing once the playoffs start. So since we didn't need the game on sunday and would already be in the playoffs I would have been cool with the Cowboys coming off a loss heading into the second matchup at the Linc.

So if we win on sunday I can just see the eagles headed into that game the following week with determination especially since the game would be in Dallas and the fact they would be 0-2 against us this season. If the game is at the Linc, the Cowboys get to be that HUNGRY team coming off a loss the week before and will be pumped since the game is in their place and beat the Eagles in front of their fans.

Does anyone see the point I'm making in regards to the Eagles?
NO!!!

Your logic is impecably flawed. You lose to win next week in Philadelphia????

Every game stands on its own. You can beat a team ten times in a row if you are better and play your game. I believe we can beat the Eagles 3 x in a row because we are the better team. How does that not make sense to you?

The next season they played the bucs three times and lost the 3rd game after winning the first two

No, they didnt. They played them the last regular season game (and won) then blew them out the following week in the playoffs.

The only other times they played a team 3 times this decade was 2006 and then again last yr and both were vs NYG. In 2006 they lost at home in the first matchup, then beat them the next two times. Last yr they lost at home to NYG, then beat them the next two times.

you are right, in 2002, the bucs played the eagles in the regular season and lost and then beat them in the playoffs

in 2001 and 2006 are the only time the eagles played a team 3 times in one season

Some of you guys are too caught up in this "playing the Eagles twice in a row thing."

Do you actually think winning the playoff game in Philly, coming off a loss to them is going to be easier than winning the playoff game in Dallas, coming off a victory over them?

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Maybe it is hard to win twice in a row over the same team, especially two weeks in a row, but that's not the way to look at it.

We're in the playoffs...period. It will be easier to beat the Eagles in Dallas with a mental edge over them than to beat them in Philly when they have the mental edge and think they are the better team.

So this Sunday's game is all about setting up the playoffs. We're playing to have that game at home instead of in Philly...nothing more. Losing the game and having to play the Eagles in Philly or worse, having those cocky *****s have a bye week to rest and prepare before possibly playing us in Philly anyway,...well, both scenerios are unacceptable.

Of course the players can't have the lose this week mentality but as a fan I think that it's better to come off a loss if you are playing the same team two weeks in a row. So now Sunday's game is even bigger because if we lose the Eagles not only win the division but they get a 1st round bye. So that's why I didn't want to see the Vikings Lose on MNF.

dude are you drunk already?

just think about the psychological effect it will/would have on the eagles getting beat by us 3 times in a season

True, you play to win every game but if the Vikings had locked up the 2 seed, losing on sunday would not have been a biggie since the rematch was the following week.

I don't think the Giants even try to win, just so they can spite us. :(

Giants may not win but it will have nothing to do with the Cowboys. Giants were embarrassed as was Coughlin I have no doubts they will go out there and play hard in this game.

If some Giant fans were running the team I would agree with you but they don't and Tom Coughlin will try to get a win in this game

Don't even think of all this Bull. Just take it one game at time and prepare for that game when you know who and where you play next. Keep the eye on the target; this weeks opponent. Don't let that other stuff even creep into your thoughts.

ONE WEEK AT A TIME - PERIOD.

p.s.

you get a week off without knowing who or where - go to Cabo and meet and old friend!:bang2:
