I just don't understand this statement at all. I think some people just have this built in Haterd for Zimmer and will never give this D credit as long as he is here.

Name ONE D that hasn't given up some plays this year? The fact is simple.. we are 10 weeks into the football season and right now our D is ranked 3rd in the NFL.. that is not average. The much heralded Charger D had a 40 spot put on them... The Steeler D has given up several big games. Now you may not agree with the scheme,, I know some only count sacks as a good defense stat..but this D has been GOOD this year.

I'm just mad because this D has so much potential and they seem to blow it..Understand where I'm comming from:banghead: .

I agree and disagree.

Agree-

We win one game and everyone thinks we're making the Playoffs, WE lose a game and we're a horrible teamt hat should fire Zimmer and BP.

The honest truth is we are not consistant on defense and in this league that goes a long way. We're an Ok team with potential that's about it. If we beat the Colts then start talking..Right now lets stop the madness.

Disagree- I think this Team can be a playoff team if it gets it's act together on Defense and we cut the stupid Penalties.
i agree with everything you said ! but you made the point if they cut penalties and mental mistakes we can be a playoff team , which is the same reason i dont think they'll make the playoffs . yes we do have talent but how many weeks in a row are we gonna say this is must win game(big game) or say if we could just stop the deep ball or the stupid penalties . like parcells says . you are what you are .......... no disrespect to anyone , i love this team but if you look at the way we play and say we deserve playoffs >>>>> your nuts .

OHH I would never take them lightly,, but not ready to roll over either. I think we match up well with them and we can win this game. It will take the best effort of the year.. but in no way am I conceding this game. We have a good team.. they just need to realize it and play to it.

And as my old coach used to say... that perfect record and 50 cents will buy you cup of coffee... It don't mean anything come sunday.. they get no points for past accomplishments.
The perfect record will buy you a lot more than that. Not trying to downplay your coach, but he was just trying to fire you up to get over being psyched out. You can't play intimidated. That's a recipe for a loss.

We are 5-4. I do not want to be 5-5. Unfortunately the shadow on the horizon looms large at 9-0 and 5-5 is a distinct possibility. Not going to concede anything, but not about to crow either.

They have many weapons.

The combo of Harrison and Wayne is unstoppable.

Clark catches well too.

True, but they can have been stymied before, and in a variety of ways , most notably the Pats strategy of flooding the zones these past few years.

Making Manning feel uncomfortable is always the key...it's just figuring out how your defensive talent can best accomplish that.

Im scared. Marvin and Reggie are going to be unstoppable. Peyton is Peyton. Joseph Addai is starting to do well now. He catches alot of balls in addition to running well lately. Clark and Utecht are doing well. Basically anyone that is catching the ball is doing well. Then there's a guy name Dwight Freeney on the other side of the ball.

No doubt the Colts are a good team and I expect they will put some points on the board. I think Dallas is also a good team with the ability to put some points up as well. I look forward to the challenge of facing a 9-0 team and one of the best offenses in the NFL. I don't think Dallas defense can shut them down but I do think we have guys who can make big plays on the defense and create turnovers. Dallas is 4th in the take away department and if we can cut down on penalties I think we do have a legit shot at the Colts

I know they are 9-0 and we are 5-4. I say so what!! Yes they have a GREAT Offense.. We have a Good Defense.. We have a GOOD Offense.. they have an average Defense. It should be a good game,, but not one I think is a given. They haven't exactly been lighting teams up, their average margin of victory is under 7pts and that includes teams like the Titans and Texans. 7 of their 9 wins have been by a TD or less. I like our chances here guys, I really do.

I think a #6 offense against a #16 defense is a better matchup than a #2 Offense against a #3 defense.

Go BOYZ!!

our defense isnt as good as the ratings on the yards...we dont rush the passer at all, and normally that spells doom against a team with the kind of offense they have

I'm not saying we'll definitely lose, but with the way we have played (especially defensively) to think we are going to stone them or something is pretty foolish

Where is this tremendous sense of confidence coming from?

We're facing an undefeated team who has the best QB in the league.

Is it our thumping victory over the mighty Cardinals?

Or maybe the fact that now that Old Man Ellis is gone, we can finally generate a pass rush from one of our unproven younger players?

Seriously, how does a win over the Cardinals propel some of you fans to think we have nothing to fear from the team with the best record in the NFL?

If we beat the Colts, then puff out your chests.

Until then, we have absolutely nothing to brag about.

Never said they weren't a good team,, but they are beatable. I always have confidence my team,, always. We could be 0-9 right now and I would still think we had a shot to win. That's just me. I know records don't mean anything on the field. It comes down to players making plays, period.

We have the talent, that I am very confident in. It will take the boyz best effort of the year to win.. this won't be easy.. but I know in my Heart,, that if this team shows up to play.. we can beat them.

I guess we have a different definition of "beatable," and I guess any team in the NFL is capable of being beaten on any given Sunday. So try this one on for size ... "The Colts have been the least "beatable" team in the NFL this year."

Your original question was, "What do we have to fear with the Colts?" Well, harken back to the preceding paragraph for your answer.

You are a better fan than I.

On any given Sunday any team can show up to play and beat anyother team. That said it is possible for Dallas to win. But they need to do three things very well to do so.

1) Play an error free game and mostly I mean a penalty free game. The Cardinals game was the first game I haven't seen on TV(&^%#@*& Fox with the Steelers and NO) so I don't know about that one. The rest of the games revolved around foolish penalties.

2) Dallas's WRs, TEs, RBs, CBs and Saftys need to actually catch the balls thrown to them. This has been a great source of frustration to me all season long. On both sides of the ball.

3) Dallas better have their A#1 physical game against Indy. Indy is good, very good. Tackling on the Ds part and blocking on the Os part are imperative.

Most of Dallas's problems seem to be from inatention or from lackadasical play. With a lot of younger guys that is always a problem but half way through the season I am hoping they will all play like vets and not like rookies still learning the ropes.

That and I really hope I get to see this game instead of a 9ers or Raiduhs game for the first pick in the next draft. Now is the time when good teams start showing why they deserve a play off spot when the real season starts.

If T-New wants to get some respect he'll line up opposite 88 and shut him down all game. Then ESPN and various other media outlets will have no choice but to give this man some respect.

Call it a feeling for me. I'm generally very conservative on these sorts of things and you are absolutely one hundred percent right in your post down to the last word but ... this is the time for a statement.

I know insert overused football cliche here ... statement game. But if we are going to turn this season around and put the painful memories of what could have been from earlier losses behind us we need a big skin to put on the wall. As trophy kills go they don't get any bigger than Indy.

I don't think this point will be lost on Parcells ... and I bet he pulls out all the stops. He already said in his presser that he had been peaking at the Colts before the Cardinal game and how rare a thing that was for him to do.

He knows how big this game can be for his teams mentality the rest of the way and as a result I think he'll empty the proverbial playbook ... and you can bet this team will be ready.

I am afraid of our DB's against their WR's with Peyton throwing to them. If we can shut him down then we win. But since it seems like Brunnel can light us up with big catches to unknown guys, I worry that Peyton will find the holes in our secondary like a lawnmower finds gopher holes

People are talking about Colt's ability to score at will but according to NFL.com:

Scoring offense rating:
3 Dallas with 27.8 points/game.
4 Indy with 27.7 points/game.

So we win by .1 points come Sunday. :D

I honestly hope you are right, Screw.

However, I had the same exact feeling just prior to the Giants game, and the disappointment that resulted in that blown opprotunity is too fresh in my mind to ignore.
