Why Is Marinelli Considered Some Genius?

I have yet to see one ounce of that being true while here. He's stubborn and continues to stick to some outdated system any QB with a pulse can exploit. Our defense is soft and predictable. Rob Ryan got crucified and fired for these same results yet I hear nothing but praise for this man. Maybe I'm missing something. Because he is no different than Rob Ryan was his few years here. This defense does nothing well. I really think this is the worst defense in the league but the offense masks it like they did last year.

I don't get it. He had some success with Monte Kiffin in the Happy Days years. All I hear is excuses that he has no talent on D. Now he has two "war daddies" and still has a hot butter defense.

He couldn't hardly win a game as a head coach I think that pretty much says it all he is I guess a rkg though I would like to see Dallas get a young DC and maybe even a young OC and see what happens in then

Because we watch Sunday Night Football and Cris Collingsworth says something along the lines of "ooh, Rod Marenelli's really got this defense flying to ball..." and a faction of our fanbase eats it up and regurgitates it back as if its gospel.

Now Marinelli's touch with the modern player I think is special
None of Nellie's schemes are complicated but if their executed properly
they get home.

You know we played IMO the best QB in the NFL, Rogers is amazing.

What D coordinator wouldn't do better with more talent? Still not a valid excuse to keep a guy. Especially if the talent around him never seems to get better.

We've invested pics into the defense it just never gets coached up

Rod seems like a great guy but this is year 4? With him and we aren't trending at all

Total agreeance. Marinelli is asked too much for what we have. Give him JJ Watt, A. Donald, Earl Thomas and Von Miller before we can begin to criticize the man.
