Why do all you think Russell is better than Quinn, and how did the Heisman drop to the 3rd round? Why??

The media guys are the ones pushing Russell to go to the Raiders #1 overall.

Personally, I would still select Brady Quinn...imo, he's still the surest thing out there, and he's the most ready to play the game.

Quinn will either go to Oakland or Detroit, imo. Neither team has a QB of the future, and while the OT from Wisc. is a beast, only fools take OL over QB. I remember the same stupid conversation over whether we should take Aikman or the OL who's name eludes me, a lineman who was supposed to be a can't miss guy and the best OL to come out of college in a generation.

If you Need a QB, you take Quinn...it's a nobrainer in my opinion.

Tony Mandarich, picked 2nd by Green Bay in '89, and they passed up Barry and Deion Sanders, way to go.

Well im with you on the Quinn over Russell. But Troy Smith checked in at 5'10 and a half or so, and thats just seen as to short, Also his performance in the natl champ game was extremely forgettable, what was he 4/19? something along those lines

The media has fallen in love with his size and arm. He got all this by shredding a ND defense that just about every QB they played shredded.

Troy Smith checked in at 6'0" at both the Senior Bowl and Combine. Still kinda short, but it's not 5'10".

As for why Russell over Quinn? He's simply better. Better arm, better accuracy, and makes decisions quicker.

Bigger, stronger, faster, much higher upside, very intellegent, and without a doubt a much more powerful arm..... I'd take Russell over Quinn any day of the week...

Just how many really big QBs have been successful in the NFL? Really successful?
He came to the combine looking soft. BQ came in top shape. BQ spends a lot more time looking at films and working at his craft then Russel does. Russel had a much better team around him too. Its interesting that some of the scout groups that were so high on Russell are now starting to come down to earth on him. BUt that is the way it is- flavor of the month, etc.

Amazing what one game can do for a player.

You can't be referring to me, because I was high on him and low on Quinn before that game. It's well documented here.

he's big, strong, fast, athletic and has a cannon arm

many predict he'll go #1 overall because Al Davis is seemingly hipnotized by great athletes, esp. ones who have a chance to keep the dream alive, Air Coryell

He will go #1 because Al Davis loves his big arm. I hope Moss stays so we can see if that deep ball to Moss can live again.

I'm guessing that's just your opinion, because I haven't read that anywhere, just the opposite in that this was the first year he didn't kill his team with stupid throws and that he still misses open guys short...we must be reading different guys...I think quinn goes ahead of him when it really comes down to it.

Seems kinda simple. Russell may be the most talented QB we've ever seen come out.

In 2006 Quinn had a 61.9 comp %

In 2006 Russell had a 67.8 comp %

Russell had 8 ints and Quinn had 7.

Russell had the 3rd highest QB rating in the entire NC2A. Quinn was 14th.
