Why is the press laying off Manning and his egg-laying?

I mean..

if this was Romo and he played like this..

..which he has and been blasted unmercifully for just such a collapse.

..but the press is giving Manning a free pass here.

Just wasn't Manning's day?

Oh my..

Free Pass Free Pass.

Not fair. Not fair.

Payton is proving to be a choker.

There, I said it.

It was more of a complete collapse then a collapse by Manning.

The adage returns - defenses win championships, offenses get you there.

If you’re referring to last night’s game, then I think you’ll find that the dumbest fans would realise that even the best QBs won’t succeed without significant help from his team-mates.

Name me one QB that would have won a game with his offense getting dominated like the Bronco’s was last night?

Why didn’t the Bronco’s defense reciprocate?

It's all about TEAMwork.

It's all about coaching.

Denver was completely out coached, out schemed and unprepared.

Seattle was not as dominating as they were ready to play.

And Payton may have lost his last chance at a title.

Too bad.

Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Manning has lost 2 out of 3 SBs.

Both by lopsided scores.

Manning's failure to produce in the clutch is becoming his mantra.

Not relevant. Even with this loss Manning is the greatest QB of all time, although it can still be argued not many bounded by reason would argue his place amongst the top 5 QBs to ever play the game. Romo will likely not be mentioned among the top 50, that is the difference.

Although as a rant I always see Donovan McNabb listed in top 50 lists, maybe Romo will be one day lol but I believe you'll get the point I'm trying to convey.

It’s about coaching and talent.

The two go hand in hand.

Just look at our defense last year as a prime example.

I'm not sure why you seem to hate Peyton?

Manning has flat-out carried teams before. I would counter that both of his SB losses came with teams that wouldn't have been close without him.

What Denver has found out about Manning the last 2 years has been the same lesson the Colts learned..

Payton is a blessing and curse.

He takes up so much of a team's salary cap..

..they can't afford to have enough good players around him to succeed at the highest levels.

Its quite the conundrum if you ask me.

Was i the only one disgusted by Trent Dilfer saying quote "He just had a bad game". Are you kidding me? This is the biggest game of the year and TD says he just had a bad game, a bad game is a loss to the Jags in the regular season not a complete *** whooping in the Superbowl.

I'd take the season Denver had this year in perpetuity in a heartbeat.

Not a QB alive who could have done anything against that Defense last night. One of the best performances I've seen in a game.

As for the OP. 5 Time MVP comes with some perks.

Why do cowboys fans always have to worry about what the media or other fans feel about players from other teams?

Well it's not as if we Cowboys fans have anything else to talk about this time of year.

To the original point, ol' Peyton definitely deserves to be criticized for this performance. Peyton is showered with all the accolades and praise when they win. You didn't hear anyone mention anything about the team around him when they were winning and setting all these records. But when they lose, you hear all about the team and nothing about Peyton (wow, this really sounds familiar)

Peyton Manning, 5-time MVP, laid a huge egg in the biggest game of the year. He SHOULD receive criticism but he won't because he's Peyton Manning and he has good numbers.

Payton Manning has more skins on the wall than Romo. That gives him some leeway.
Last night was just not the Broncos night. If they play that game 10 times, Denver wins 6 of them.
