Why is the press laying off Manning and his egg-laying?

Here's a thought, and maybe I'm just crazy for thinking this way... But maybe Romo should try avoiding a 5 year playoff drought before we jump the gun on why he's not "treated fairly" by the media...

so Romo plays the game all by himself?

Payton Manning has more skins on the wall than Romo. That gives him some leeway.
Last night was just not the Broncos night. If they play that game 10 times, Denver wins 6 of them.

Did you watch that game at all? Seattle owned them completely. And they did it playing their standard D no new tricks or adjustments. They play 10 times and I see Seattle winning 9.

I agree that Seattle's defense was awesome last night but I did see Manning miss some open receivers that I thought would have gotten Romo roasted. I saw at least 3 times the tight get open instantly on a quick curl that would have been enough for a first down and he didn't see it and instead threw to a covered receiver. Romo would have been killed for that being you know... a $100 million dollar qb and all.

Romo will never get the slack because of two reasons: the Seattle game and being the Dallas Cowboys QB. I rewound and watched every passing play Denver had and there were maybe half a dozen when there was no pressure at all. Every other one they either were right there or forced Manning to move. They never let him get comfortable or in a rhythym and that is how you beat him. They just did a better job then just about any team I ever saw.

I agree. That's why I thought Peyton should have made those quick routes his first read. That's just one example I guess of how people would have put the screws to Romo. Having said all that, I still give credit to Seattles defense. They played great and, no, we wouldn't have had a shot. Not because our offense couldn't score, I think they could, but because Our defense wouldn't stop anyone..... ever.

I'm not a Romo apologist I'm just calling it like it is, Manning has failed more times than not in the biggest moments. It's not like he played well and his team lost, in the games I mentioned, he played subpar and is just not clutch imo. Greatest regular season qb in history, that's a backhanded compliment if you really look at it.

I understand. But Payton was grilled as a choke artist until he won the big game. I mean grilled by the national media much more than Romo, so it's old news. If Romo wins the big one, the choke tag will go away. If Romo were to just get us to a championship game people would lay off quite a bit.....but jeezz.

Brady's last two offenses weren't able to do anything against a quality defense in the Super Bowl either.

It tells me more about how an offense should be designed for ultimate success in the playoffs than it does about Peyton.

Three passing juggernauts led by Brady or Manning have been held to under 20 points in the SB. That's pretty pathetic and I don't see how any team could hope to build a better passing attack those those teams had.

That game last night was a classic snowball aftect game....starting from the very 1st play from scrimmage.

Peyton had has some bad games at times, but I've always felt that once someone gets all the way to the finals they (and their team) have already had to win big clutch games just to get there.

I mean..

if this was Romo and he played like this..

..which he has and been blasted unmercifully for just such a collapse.

..but the press is giving Manning a free pass here.

Just wasn't Manning's day?

Oh my..

Free Pass Free Pass.

Not fair. Not fair.

Payton is proving to be a choker.

There, I said it.

Because Manning at least has ONE Super Bowl ring and has been to THREE Super Bowls. Romo hasn't been to a Championship Game yet.

Besides, I don't know what you've been listening to but Michael Irvin, LT, Cris Carter and many others have basically said that Peyton will be viewed differently because of this Super Bowl loss.

Evidently your reading skills need a small bit of polishing, Burm. Or I can use smaller words and explain it again.

your tired rants against Romo are amusing. Worthless, but amusing.

When you understand what I am saying you still will post this drivel as if it is truth.

There is a difference between being harried by a pass rush and throwing a pick, Or having your throwing arm hit and the pass flying uncontrolled for a pick six.

And sitting with the ball and a drive to win, and no rush in your face and making a mental mistake to cost a team the game.

I defend him when he isn't at fault. I do not when he is responsible.

Your position is like the main stream media rewriting the words of some to make them out to be the bad guys. Or you are just obtuse.

Give me a break, Manning is the greatest QB of this generation, and it's really not close. Romo is a proven loser.

I think Tom Brady would have a lot to say about this. Manning might be the greatest QB of this generation but to say it's really not close. Cmon man.
