Miles Austin is clearly the Cowboys only speed weapon at WR. And with Felix Jones out, he's the only speed weapon on Cowboys offense.

Wouldn't you rather have Austin running a WR screen as opposed to Sam Hurd.

Answer: Jason Garret sucks.

Well one reason would most likely be the fact that on Romo's INT is that he didn't run the proper route and that probably doesn't exactly give the Cowboys a ton of faith in him to give him a lot more chances. That would be one guess.

Yeah. It was pretty obvious he messed up on that route. Plus, for all the speed he has, he doesn't get open consistently.

Fair enough, but can't the cowboys just use him on go routes to stretch the defense?

I don't know if you can say that with much certainty. When they showed them (Romo, Miles and Sherman) on the sidelines, Miles was being demonstrative in the fact that he took an inside turn and Romo was making his point to but it wasn't like a tutoring where it was obvious that Miles was wrong.

And I agree with the OP. I believe this is something we'll see more off after the Bye and as the season progresses.

They did run a WR screen to Miles Austin and he got stood up by Dawkins. Austin just doesn't have the skills to be a top WR, his routes are something to be desired and he clearly didn't run the correct route on the Romo pick. Romo put that ball on the outside and why in the world Austin didn't break outwards is mind bottling...

He is not a good route runner....honeslty...NONE OF THESE WRs are. Big guys need to really get the ball on the move...let them try to break a tackle or run away from the defense if fast enough...but timing routes...getting in and out of breaks...this is the reason Stanback was NEVER going to be a good WR for this offense...and why the guys we have are not great for this offense. Irvin and Aikman could run timing routes in their sleep....we don't have anyoen that can do that. Slant, posts, pick plays, flys....that is all these guys can run...problem is, you can't have a team full of guys where all of them can only run certain types of routes. the best route runner on this team does nto even dress on Sunday....Olgetree.

Miles does not follow through on his routes. He thinks if he stops in a certain place, Romo will throw it right to him based on where he is, not where the play is designed to go to. He's been doing this crap for how many years now? I've saw nothing last year to convince me of anything otherwise. You can't trust a guy who does that crap.. it drives a QB crazy.

This guy deserves his own thread.

Our season was in the balance today and he stepped up and made some plays. He didn't just let guys tackle him either.

He fought and fought hard!

Big props to Keith Brooking too! I love that guy!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

And i got blasted for defending him how he gets this team's emotions were they need to be. He was the ONLY ONE on the sidelines cheering the Offense as they played.
