That got the Cowboys no where and isn't close to what he was hired for.

All those teams did was beat up on bad teams and lose to good teams.
Did we just lose to good teams or was it better teams. If that’s the case then why should we be expected to beat better teams?

And I’m not sure that his only stipulation for hiring was to win a championship. That might be more of fans expectations.

Both years we lost to SF in playoffs they were definitely the better team. And it looks like the Packers were probably the better team too.

Not just MM, I felt Dak should NEVER have been extended. Both have shown they are not the ones who will help you take the next step.

I have never gotten past him NOT being fired after that home GB playoff embarrassment.

Everything that's followed this season since then has been more Jerry smoke and mirrors.

Mike McCarthy has failed here.

I want McCarthy gone for no other reason than he lied to us about wanting to run the ball. When push came to shove he has repeatedly shown he has no interest in actually playing smashmouth football and establishing the toughness this team needs.

It's impossible to feel sorry for McCarthy. He knew what he was getting into when he came to the Cowboys.

There were no surprise revelations after taking this job. He walked in with eyes wide open.

No he shouldn't be back. He should have been fired after GB. Jerry decided on running it back this year. That blew up in his face.

I have a question. What is McCarthy's biggest accomplishment in 5 years? I can't think of one.
Great post.
None of this was a shock. He knew exactly what he was getting into. He's padded his retirement portfolio handsomely. Time for him to go.

He's won one playoff game in his last 7 years as a head coach at both GB and Dallas.

He failed here.
Period.

Or he doesn’t have the horses for a running game. I hear you Ronnie. But this team does not have the components of of a good running game.

You blame him for Zeke being finished, don't you?

How would we know? We've never shown any inclination that we want to establish a running game. Our linemen in general are better run blockers than pass blockers for sure.

I blame him for our running game stinking and never getting into any kind of rhythm. I'll leave the need to make it about individual players to softheads. I like winning way more than I like any one player.

McCarthy had a very good roster and couldn't get to the NFCCG. He is not the answer. Hire an innovative coach to come in an rebuild this mess.

Here is an additional reason:

Because it is considered insensitive and, perhaps a little morbid, to provide reasons why "Jerry Jones Must Not Be Back Next Year".

Strange how one statement seems far more inappropriate than the other, especially when you consider the degree of accountability.

I think it's hard to predict whether or not Jerry will re-sign McCarthy, at this juncture.

I can't help but to believe the coming games will probably determine what happens.

In any event, we'll likely find out at year's end or thereabouts. Jerry's unpredictable.

As it should .. If this team reels off 7 in a row and storms into the playoffs you gotta give the man his due. Especially if they manage to upset somebody and get to the divisional round. No I don't think it will happen but any fair minded person would agree that if McCarthy can get this rag tag bunch to pull together and finish with double digit wins he not only needs to stay but he needs to be given more respect. That said I have us losing to Philly and Cincy and maybe even Tampa and that will be that. But the fact that they've rallied and made those games have meaning works for me.

He just tied Parcells in career wins.
