Why Not Dave Wannstedt?

I'd like a legitimate reason why he would be any worse than Turner.

Wanny's 7-9 would be more boring. That's worse I guess.

It is no more ludicrous than bringing back Turner. Except that Turner did even worse in his other head coaching stops than Wannstedt did in Chicago or Miami.

I keep pinching myself to say it's not a dream, but it's true. Jerry Jones actually believes this is a smart idea to hire a complete limp phallis like Norv Turner to hold the hand of Jason Garrett until it is determined he no longer needs diapers and can move on to the big boy potty.

Meanwhile, we are ignoring the real issues on this team, like our completely lifeless and clueless defense.

Is Jason Garrett worth all of this?

If so, why not just make him head coach then?
I would have to disagree with you. I'm not a fan of Norv at all for HC, but Dave Wannstedt. At least Norv has the excuse that he took over bad teams with awful ownership. Wannstedt took over a decent Miami team and ran them into the toilet.

If JJ wants an offensive mind to develop Romo, why not just keep Chris Palmer, and isn't that part of the reason Garrett is here?

I think we'd have been in much better shape if Jerry had just promoted Zimmer. Palmer, an experienced and very successful veteran OC, could have moved up to Offensive Coordinator and Garrett could have been the Passing coordinator/QB coach.

Dallas would have been able to keep Romo in the same offense---very important for a young QB. They would have gone back to the 4-3 with man coverage at CB. Roy Williams goes back to attacking the LOS. THe team gets another hard ***, workaholic head coach who insists things be done the right way.

Jerry is a reactor. He's now trying to react to the Sean Payton, young "genius" that got away, so now he's wanting to invent Garrett in that role.

You hit it dead on. The thing that drives me nuts is that history will prove that Sean Payton is not that good of a head coach. There is a reason he kept spoiling in his workplaces. Payton is something of a one season wonder. People figure him out in season 2.

It is a damn shame that Jerry has puppy love for offensive "geniuses" Payton/Garrett. Zimmer was the best homegrown head coaching candidate this team had in Years. I would not be suprised to see him do very well in Atlanta and move on to be someone else's NFC championship-winning coach while we are still wating for Garrett to "blossom".

i'd love to have him back as defensive coordinator.
And Jimmy as HC, and Troy as QB, and Emmitt at RB, and Michael, and Leon Lett! ****, let's play Buffalo a few times

Wanny is busy steering the Pittsburgh Panthers' ship. He inherited a team that went to a BCS bowl game and has yet to sniff a bowl game since. When you are examining college football coaches that have pro potential, you tend to focus on guys who can win, not guys who know how to flush the toilet.

When it comes to football the man is a total moron. He got lucky with Johnson. If they weren't former teammates I doubt he would've ever hired him. Then thinking he could make all the GM decisons himself once Jimmy left, to hiring guys like Switzer, Gailey and Campo...it's just a constant with this buffoon.

At least he gained a little sense in his head when he finally got desperate and brought in Bill. The worst thing about Bill not taking us farther is that apparently Jerry now thinks there's no need to hire a big time high-priced HC again. He went with guys like Barry/Chan/Campo time and again, but now that BP didn't take us all the way I suppose JJ is one and done with that philosophy so now he's going back to the lame glorified-OC-as-HC route.

As bad an option as Wade seems, at least he has a history of being a marginally winning HC. Norv is just bad. And yeah, it is totally ludicrous to just hire a guy in order to keep the seat warm for QB coach with only two years experience.
