Why not cut dak?
Why not start lance?
Why not trade Ceedee for a first and a second?
Why not trade Micah for a first and third in 25 and first in 26?
What could we do with all those picks and all that freed up cap space.
None of these guys have proved they can win in playoffs, so why continue to pay them?
Lol,
Hmmm… because rational and reasonably intelligent people comprehend and understand that in “competitive” sports you rarely get childish instant gratification and you don’t “take your ball and go home” like a spoiled bedwetter!

Yup none of these individuals have proved they can win a TEAM sport. Why not just cancel the team all together none of these fans have proved they deserve to witness a championship or winning!

 Because LOSERS tank.

For the slow ones in the back. This might be Zach Martin's last year so you want him and the rest of the veterans on the team to tank so we can get a better draft pick? 75 percent of our fanbase is braindead.

Cowboys have the worst fanbase in all of sports - Stephen A. Smith

I understand your thinking. It’s certainly not completely a bad idea.

But here’s the problem - our front office NEVER wants to do an official rebuild. Since Jimmy left, it’s only officially been sanctioned once and that was under Bill Parcells. They would rather (in their words) “hang around the rim” or be “this close” than to have a 3-14 season on purpose.

They would rather SELL a good to mediocre team that has no chance to win a SB than to go through what is necessary to do a proper rebuild like we did in 1989 and perhaps later win a SB. Jerry will NEVER agree to that again IMO. He would rather play carnival barker and rake in the cash than think long term. He lives 100% for today.

Alternatively, why not - NOT do that. Any of it. Delete this post and move on with our lives.

Why not? Easy, you play the game to win, not to tank.

Now, it would be different had you made the case that any one or more if the moves yields a better opportunity to win, but that’s not the case. Tanking doesn’t insure winning, now or in the future.

They didn’t do a rebuild with a reasonably successful team even with BP. That rebuild came about because of a moribund team after 3 straight 5-11 seasons. And even so, it’s certainly questionable it would’ve been done even then were it not for having a new stadium in play.

Cutting Dak saves you zero dollars so that's pointless plus you wouldn't then get a 2026 3rd round comp pick when he signs with another team. As for the rest they should absolutely shop them and see what they might get in return.

You trade Dak, not cut him. And for all those who say he has a No Trade Clause I call Bs on that, he will go anywhere that will pay him $60m gauranteed!

Bob do you have links to when Jerry said we like to “hang around the rim” or be “this close” than to have 3-14 seasons on purpose. I’ve never heard that although it wouldn’t surprise me much.

With that haul of picks they could draft Joel Embiid, Jahlil Okafor, Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz, and Michael Carter-Williams. Problem is, only one of them turned out to be any good. Why trade known talent for the hope of drafting talent? By the way, at some point the drafted talent has to be paid.
Funny how things work. If they wouldn’t have had the first overall pick they would’ve had Tatum lol.
