Is this far our fans have fallen? Is this what happens when a franchise with the history, pride, and glory falls on decades of failure? Have we fallen to the point that we are now attempting to justify the slandering of a mans character because of the women he "attracts". We know nothing of the situation other than what's happened when it all went bad. Yet so many here have allowed there frustration, and anger at the franchise to move to the point where we are at this point just blantently finding reasons to be angry and hateful.
People week 1 is upon us, a new chance for our time to get back its glory. Our RB has been proven to be innocent and instead of celebrating and moving toward the season we are arguing about nonsense character issues. Maybe we as fans need to take a drep breath and ask ourselves just what in the blue blazes are we doing here
No one has slandered Zeke anymore than the NFL is slandering players when it tells them to watch out for the female entourage.
Look, some people want to walk through life blissfully ignorant of the dynamics of life and human behavior.
Does a woman who comes to a party nearly nude deserve to be raped? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
But is there a dynamic at work where a man, depending on his background and experiences, will act on the gird system of his mind and rape her? ABSOLUTELY YES!
It's not an either/or. It's both. Yet, because we value freedom and hate consequences, we want to ignore these natural dynamics and accuse those who point them out as "blaming the victim."
I believe this woman fabricated her story to get Zeke in trouble. I believe she saw dollar signs when dating Zeke. But I also understand that if Zeke slept with her, he connected with her in a way she feels entitled or connected to him. And her actions are an outgrowth of their relationship. That's not to say this will happen the same in every situation to this degree. But human observation tells us that when men and women hook up, the intimate nature of sex changes us in ways we can predict and ways we can't predict. This is the way it is as beings who desire relationships.
So why is this issue important in a broader sense? It is because it is a lesson to all men about how they conduct their relationship with women. And it's so important to young athletes that the NFL invests time in explaining during the rookie symposium how to avoid such situations.
We don't want Zeke's or any Cowboy's (and let's be honest; we're only talking about this because Zeke is a Cowboy) career to be derailed because of unwise decisions.
Hence our "concern."
