Why should we hire Deion Sanders?

Deion is a team manager type coach. He isnt really one to develop anyone himself

A problem I have with Deion right now is that type of coach is a staff builder. What NFL connections does he have
we don't know what connection he does and does have, I don't see how hard it would be with Jerry Jones to locate 1, I mean what's the difference Jerry Jones is looking for the next head coach who he's having many conversations with by phone and interviews coming up he has the relationships with a lot of coordinators in this league and then Deion can approve the ones he wants, but Jerry can pick up the red bat phone and get most available coordinators to come in and interview here , that's not a problem.

As a fan base some of y'all just want to act like you guys know what goes on up at the star or know the operations of man's minds, like you have no idea what relationships these guys have created over the years, and that the thing... you would hire Sanders or any head coach, so you could get together with them and decide on the staff, but Deion Sanders would not be left alone to do that again Jerry Jones has a lot of relationships in this league you think everyone hates him and nobody wants to work here and that's not the truth....

And here's why I know, Bill Belichick recently last year wanted to be the head coach here he was waiting for Mike McCarthy to be let go last year then he goes and takes a job too soon in college and then when he seen Mike McCarthy was leaving Dallas he stated to the media that he wished he'd known sooner he would have waited and would have liked an interview with Jerry Jones about the job here and bill Belichick's the ultimate egocentric control freak why would he even bother even stating he might be interested in this job if everyone has that outlook on Jerry Jones why would he even consider it?

and yet he did.. So I wouldn't worry about any of the newer raw head coaching candidates not having enough NFL connections because Jerry does and they can work it out and come to some kind of mutual agreement on who that staff would be hey all he has to do is go to that new head coach and say who do you have in mind and then they'll go to those guys and try to set up an interview it's that simple you're making this very complicated.....

I'm not pushing for Sanders, I'm just telling you, you guys are just overthinking this, you're creating an issue that's not there...

Like lots of people here, my mind lives in the 90s. In the 90s, Deion was the only CB that existed in my mind like Shannon Sharpe was the only Tight End that existed.

But as a coach, he has done nothing. He was 9-4 this year in a lame conference. Im not expecting a miracle from him in his 2nd year, but if he's such a top coach.... why can't he elevate such an overhyped program with 2 Heisman candidates into at least a playoff birth? Making the playoffs is a joke now.... Arizona St turned around faster than Deion did.... and they didn't have a coach anyone cared about before this year. Maybe his 3rd year is his year, but the possibility of that is kinda dubious now with his 2 Heisman loverboys going to the NFL.

Also, we know picks 1, 2 and 3 are Sanders, Ward, and Hunter name your order. If Shedur goes to the Giants.... who's to say he can remain objective and without emotion sending Parsons and the full fleet against his son twice a year?

I say we hire Jon Gruden. He was my favorite coach in the early 00s. Ok maybe you can argue Martz, but he was a playcaller primarily. Gruden can REALLY build a team. Look what he did with Oakland and Tampa.... 2 black hole franchises at the time. Maybe he didn't "build" Tampa, but I highly doubt Dungy wins the Super Bowl with that 02 team.
Dunno about you,..but as a cowboys fan I liked jay Novacek pretty well. He existed.

If you think NFL players won't follow Deion Sanders, an iconic hall of fame player with a personality the size of Australia, I don't know what to tell you. I mean, I guess the new generation is young. But they know who Deion Sanders is.
I dunno...not sure it would take deion as a coach to inspire ME to play my best football. I would it do no matter who the coach owner salary or teammates...or fans...are.

Maybe that is what's missing these days.

Hell no. Besides being an immoral piece of trash his head coaching record in the regular season is 117–112.

That is a winning percentage of .511 which is even lower than Jeff Fisher. Let that sink in for a while. I swear Cowboys fans crave mediocrity and retreads.

But he has swagger and stuff.

The one positive with Deion is he might completely make us so terrible that we get top 3 picks.

Because he's one of the best coaches available, and he's one of very few coaches out there that JJ may actually listen to and respect. He isn't a retread. He brings an old school, disciplinarian mentality with him, and had the skins on the wall to back up what he preaches. He brings accountability. Something this team has been missing for a long, long time.

Will it work in Dallas? Who knows? I think he would be a really good fit, but Jerry Jones is still Jerry Jones. It's a calculated risk for sure. Worst case, the operation crashes and burns. Something that needs to happen for Jethro to understand that he's clueless. Best case, we have a Hall of Fame player and the best to ever play his position coaching up a strong core, and we see success greater than what we've seen since the 90s. Either way we win.

100% agree there. I think he should stay in college.
But just feel like he does deserve more credit for the turnaround for Colorado.
We'll see how they'll do without his boys/Hunter but he landed some more talent in the transfer portal.
Somebody basically said the same nonsense to me yesterday about Deion not accomplishing much at Colorado. Lololll. These people are clueless.

But he has swagger and stuff.

For somebody that completely understands the circus around this franchise , you should understand the value that Deion would bring to the table. He immediately would bring a presence as a HC that can put Jerry in check and right this ship. He’s not going to bring any advantage on the sidelines but he’d be a ceo head coach and would need elite coordinators. But no other HC candidate has any chance to put Jerry in his place other than Deion.

The Raiders, THE RAIDERS, scoffed at hiring Deion. We are a complete disgrace of an organization on every level.

to attract his sons to Dallas while they're young :)

and if it doesn't work, it will likely be an absolute catastrophe of a failure, which would be OK too...end mediocrity, just fail miserably, and then rebuild

There isn't a player in the NFL who wouldn't love to play for Deion. That is why you hire him. This is the greatest CB of all time former player, not Kellen Moore played QB for 1 game former player

Deion is a great coach when he's not coaching his sons. In College he can almost always get what he wants through the transfer portal because kids want to play for him. In the NFL, there is a salary cap and Jerry is cheap, which means we'll continue to hire the same type of coaches and continue to lose.

Troy thinks you should never bet against Deion. Later in this interview

If Jerry runs a circus, Deion is your perfect clown.

I don't think he is an Xs and Os guy at all. Fundamentally, I think he's a salesman. That actually works well in college, where you're trying to woo recruits and you're trying to get boosters and fans to start watching your hard-luck football team again. But at the NFL... just not a big part of it

Because it’s the most stupid move the Dallas Cowboys could make. Jerry likes anything that’s “most”. (except condoms)

It could be a real train wreck with Deion. Probably would be.
He's one of the greatest of all time players and kind of has a carpet level identification and analysis. I think he knows leadership as well the sport. He has negotiated with Jerry in his past. He'll be fine and not dealing with the Mafia, nor Israel or Iraq.
