Why so hard for some to like Romo?

(Tongue firmly inserted in cheek) Romo's mobility impressed me last night, I'm on the bandwagon.

As has been stated elsewhere in the thread, people just pick sides. Just like Carter was never supported as the starter by those that liked Hutchless, Carter supporters never really supported Hutchless during his nine games of error.

I don't mind Romo, but he won't start for us this year unless we are exceptionally bad or Bledsoe gets hurt.

I'll say this about Romo.

I'm really encouraged by his performance last night. He looked like he belonged. Now, the Seahawks didn't throw exotic blitz packages at him, and it's the first game of preseason....but Romo looked like he belonged.

The most exciting thing about Romo is for the first time in years we have what could be the QB of the future on our team.

Time will tell.

Now, this doesn't mean I'm a Henson Hater or a Romo Lover.....I'm simply a Cowboy fan.

Well for the past 10 years none of these guys have brought us a ring, so the only QB we should be standing behind still is Mr. Aikman. End of QB debate b/c this thread will be 10 pages deep in no time.

QC had some talent but was an idiot. Hutch was miserable. Henson just isn't gonna cut it. So we better be hoping # 9 can keep playing damn near flawless games.

Romo is not here to supplant Bledsoe. He's here to fill in capably if Bled gets hurt. Period. Anything else is delusional.

It's kinda like that Seinfeld episode when they had to say, "not that there's anything wrong with that.." after talking about gay guys.

We have to say, "I'm not a Henson Hater/Romo Hater" every time we reference our QB situation.

I haven't really noticed people hating on Romo around here....
There is MUCH more hate posted here for Henson and even Bledsoe....much more than any Romo hate. I don't think BP likes Henson at all but I still trust BP on most things besides drafting and play-calling.
I thought Henson would really be our guy but I certainly have never hated on Romo. I'm rooting for both of them because the team wins bigtime that way.
I was really impressed with Romo and I think the coaches have been right in thinking that he just might have "it."
I really think that Romo would challenge for a starting job on a few teams this year. It'll be nice to know he's there and now has some experience for us if Bledsoe gets creamed.
Romo really reminds me a lot of Delhomme in the way he plays.
If the OL sucks again this year, Romo may be a better option for us.

In the bigger scheme of things also, it is critical to find out if someone on our QB roster is capable of being a starter because DB doesn't have that much left and its time to be grooming a successor.

I don't think I have ever bashed Romo on this board. I just felt like him and Henson had, before last night, looked to be on about the same level overall.
With Henson's background of athletic achievements I felt he had much more upside than Romo.
Last night, Romo looked like a cool, prepared, leader on the field. He made some very precise throws against Seattle's first string DBs.
If it turns out he can get the job done better than Henson, more power to him.

Not ready to drink the koolaid equals dissing in the minds of some.

That's it in a nutshell. Romo played well in a preseason game, nothing more and nothing less. He put up 1 TD and 13 points. I'm not going to annoint him the second coming based off of that performance.

Wow.

Advantage you means I wish I had said it.

Yeah, you're way over Q and Hutch. So over it you jumped to the conclusion I was bagging on you.

I can't give a fair assessment of Romo because we didn't get the game. I've been pretty even keel about him and Henson for quite a while now. If you bother to look up my posts I'm sure you can find where I've rendered an opinion or 7. I hardly run from them.

Hos, I have been jumped on as having an "agenda" a long time ago just because I had reservations about Henson way back when and it was ROUTINELY brought up by you and others as this being an "agenda" by reputed supporters of QC.

'Advantage you'....seemd to me like "Well, he's for Romo....." kind of talk. I wasn't even THINKING about QC and Hutch. I referenced it because it was referenced by you in your post.

Then you're a hater! Can you not see that he's clearly superior to Bledsoe?? Open your eyes!!

This thread is an insult and a joke. There's been a flood of pro-Romo posts coming off last night's performance, but if you don't show just the right amount of affection for Tony or call for Bled's demotion, you're derided as a hater. Nice.

Works both ways to be honest. I haven't shown much love for either one, however, it's my non-love for Henson that gets the most attention.

Whenever I brought up facts, like the minimal play in college, I was jumped on. Whenever I brought up his being away from football, I was jumped on. It came to the point where I quit even talking about the QB's period. Go back and look at my posts during the NFLE season.....if you can find any pro or con of Henson show me. Yet, I'm a hater because of my RESERVATIONS about him.

I have FEWER about Romo due to the amount of playing time in college and not being away from it....such a crime, I know.

Let's face it, we STILL may not have the QB of the future on this team right now.

Dear god, cry me a friggin river.

It seems much more likely that you are much more sensitive to criticism or what apparently was in this case perceived criticism. Now youre going to try to gauage whuch zealots have more zeal?

Jim, this just strikes me as being a bit too sensitive. Dude, if I can't even compliment you when you make a point, then what is the point of even having a discussion?

I have no idea what parameters I can discuss now. Can you see why? Look at what you just wrote real close. Look at what I said in my "2 words" post. Seems like personal to me.

Dude, I was explainingwhy I replied to your post the way that I did.

Honestly, "advantage you", doesn't sound complimentary to me....I say that because I wasn't trying to "one-up" you or anything.

I'm not sensitive about the QB issue AT ALL. If I were , I would have a TON more posts than I do.

LOL, where in that post is QC even mentioned? Sounds as though someone else can't get over it.

And for the record, I though Wright should have been the QB back then, but he was released....even though he was the better QB.

Once again, it had to do with explaining my post.

Secondly, did you even READ my post? I said that we may not even have the QB of the future on this team.
