Why the Eagles winning tonight won't be such a bad thing

Let's say the eagles win tonight by double digits, that would have the media favoring them in their home stadium next week and how they are the high flying eagles and can't be stopped, That would put all the pressure on the eagles to live up to the expectations and force dallas to raise their level of play when going to philly next week.

Now if the eagles lose, you know that they will be more desperate next week trying to avoid 0-2. So Isn't a 1-0 eagles with a win over a weak NFC south team easier to beat since they will be favored instead of a 0-1 eagles team playing to avoid a 0-2 start?

Eagles will not win tonight. Outside of Murray and Mathew I don't see much in terms of weapons. I would be shocked if Bradford is still standing at the end of the game.

I get what you're saying, but I just can't ever force myself to root for the Eagles no matter what the circumstance. I'll be cheering for Atlanta and Julio Jones who's on my fantasy team.

I didn't say root for them, just look to see the final score later in the evening and if they won then that's a good thing

Anytime a division team wins on the road (against a team that may be improved this year) it is never a good thing.

No because with a team like the eagles (and the skins) ........ they always roll over to adversity.

The Giants and Cowboys are the ones who fight harder when there backs are against the wall.

It's an interesting point.

However, let me take the counterpoint.

Let's say the Eagles do lose, and have all the pressure of going 0-2 headed into the game.

I'd love for us to be in a position to apply the boot to their neck and bring them to that 0-2 record. If our boys can do that without our best receiver, best CB, and (maybe) best pass rusher, AND having lost the Rushing Title winner to our division opponent, then maybe we can SHUT UP all this hype about the Eagles taking the division (and the Super Bowl - I live outside of Philly and hear it all the time).

In the end, all I want is a win - but wouldn't it be sweet to shut up all these idiots at the same time?
