This is the kinda childish posts that bring this place down. I hope they bench you for it.
It's a playful memory from my childhood watching the 2nd Superman movie. You decided to take it as a slam...snowflake.

BTW, the last point I made was complimentary of him...

How about you go and stop being offended ON OTHER PEOPLE'S BEHALF? I'm sure the poster can speak for themselves.

Nobody tells me to do anything. Like the old college coach said to those reporters... Im a man, Im 50!...lol.

I was a fan and supported the team before Jerry arrived, and Ill still support when Jerry is gone. Please dont tell me how all these other teams put winning as a priority. They are basically the same.

So you trying to tell me that all the teams that have never won a SB are all doing things like crap and dont care about winning?

Im sure theJets fans are saying, its been 55 years....... enough is enough.
nevermind...enjoy!

Unlike others in here that can chose to support or not support, I have no choice. This team is in my blood. Asking me to not support them woul dbe lik easking me to divorce my wife and start dating men.... that isnt a choice..lol.

Ive been a Sixers fans since about 1979. I guess I should be bashing them everyday as well. They havent won squat since 1983 and totally wasted Charles Barkely's career.

My Reds in Baseball... same thing. Those damn horrible GMs. If only the Reds and Sixers would hire real baseball and basketball people we might be able to win. Isnt that all it takes? Just hire "Real," people at those jobs?
I guess the Bears, Jets, Cards, Lions, Chargers, Raiders, Jags, Panthers, Vikings, Bengals, Browns, Dolphins, Washington, Texans and Im sure im missing a few.... all need to hire some real football people, cause aint none of them won a SB in some time.
That’s all fine and good . I’m glad that works for you.

But some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time. We are able to follow and support the Cowboys while offering our criticism on why our beloved franchise hasn’t had more success this era.

It’s really not complicated . No more than loving and supporting the country we live in while offering criticism on the leadership and direction from our leaders.

We’re still able to enjoy each game and season and the pursuit of winning in the spirit of competition. We can applaud those accomplishments and also provide and call out issues which concern us.

It’s not totally a one way street following blindly along accepting everything that’s cram down our throats. We are able to swallow the things we like and spit out the things we don’t.

We are fans of the Dallas Cowboys, and there is nothing better than getting ready for the NFL season to start. This year, im getting a video processor that will allow me to put 4 games on my 135"projector screen at once, exactly like you would see in a sports bar.
That’s awesome. That’s the life baby. Have fun.

I’m looking forward to this season because my expectations are kind of low so I most likely won’t be getting too excited when we win or too low when we lose. What I’m really looking forward to is seeing the growth of the youngsters on the team. That’ll be fun. I’m pretty confident we’re going to have some break out players we can build upon in the next couple seasons.

I don't believe we are "basically the same." Other teams GMs don't have the same incentives. They are about winning and winning alone. I've never heard another GM lament on coaching dead money. We can also look at our pattern of spending which was posted awhile back and see how little we spend in comparison. Jerry has the golden goose and he knows he only has to be competitive and sale hope. No other GM has that luxury.

All that being said I'm not here to criticize how you do fanhood. I won't comment on whatever joy or despair you take from a season.

You’re right. There’s no guarantee if Jethro steps down that we’d have anymore success. As a matter of fact we could have less.

And we’re grateful for the early success we had with Jimmy and the team he built. Our owner gets credit for that. And he must also take responsibility for since which admirably he always has. That’s what I’ve always respected him on. He’s always said the buck stops with him. Doesn’t shy away from the heat in the kitchen. He’s just not willing to set his enormous passion aside of being a celebrity football guy which doesn’t appear to be in the best interest of Cowboys Football.

He could have been a great owner , possibly best ever with his revolutionary revenue streams , if he could have continued on with great HC’s like Jimmy who have total football control over decisions and also be the bigger face of his franchise receiving more credit . And simply reaping the rewards of being the guy who was smart enough to hire the right guy and let him work. But that wasn’t enough for our owner.

No one wants to win more than him. But only his way which hasn’t worked for almost 3 decades. Even he said he’d of fired a GM with his record this era. No one gets a total pass for life. Look how legends like Landry and even Belichick finally wore on fans surpassing their prime and were either let go or stepped down.

I’m not sure how any Cowboys fan can still boast at 82 he’s what’s best for Cowboys Football. I heard much too often he’s built a good enough team to have more success but that can’t be true as we see too many other teams which continue advancing further in playoffs. The proof is in the pudding regardless what you want to believe. I know it can be difficult critiquing our own and we often need others to call out weaknesses in our loved ones as many are unable to see more clearly through their rose colored glasses.

But the advantage the rest of the league regardless the lack of success they may have is the opportunity to finally get it right by hiring the right person to navigate them through building a winning or championship team.

And we’ve seen most teams since our last SB run at least get it right for a few years however limited it was. Only a handful of teams in NFL have failed to at least reach a championship game during this time frame .

Our futility in the playoffs is the greatest measurement as we hold several NFL records now including longest drought for a team making playoffs without a championship game appearance. Even with our recent moderate success with 12 win seasons we again have set a futility mark of not advancing. The futility marks are mounting in historical fashion.

We are all very proud of our history and can still boast of those glory eras. But we can also critique the one constant throughout this era of futility while looking forward to each season with the anticipation and hopes it could finally turn. But it doesn’t mean we can take the foot off the pedal providing the pressure and prodding for our leadership to get it done. The walking and chewing gum still applies. Maybe everyone isn’t capable of doing both.

I played sports my entire life. Sports consumed me growing up. At age 8, I could name the Cowboys entire roster with their number. Football season turned into Basketball which turned into Baseball, and the cycle repeated. I watched sports on tv probably 4 days week or more. Over the years, time spent watching baseball and basketball has dwindled. Time spent on the NFL has increased.

In today's world, EVERY NFL game can be watched on TV and I do my very best to watch them all...lol. The day the schedule is released, my daughter and I start mapping out the games wed like to attend. Then we look at work schedules to see which is best suited to our schedules. We then look to cities we have not been in. Then we consider price. Id like to go to the Steelers game, but right now, I can do 2 games for the price of that game, so like the last time we played in Pittsburgh, we will probably skip that stadium, again. As of today, we are attending the opener against the Saints, the home game in Nov against the Eagles, and the road game against the Niners. At that point, depending on how the season is going, we will consider if we want to do any others. The last game against Washington is in my sights.

The internet has allowed all of us to live the NFL basically all year. Season ends and the combine is in the window, then free agency (short lived for us this year) then the draft, then rookie minicamp, OTA's Training camp, season, super bowl and the process starts again. We come to this forum and talk Cowboys 12 months of the year. That was only 10 for me this year as I needed two months away after the GB playoff loss.

My love for the NFL and the Dallas Cowboys is not dictated by wins and losses. It is not determined by whether or not I like what the owner does or doesnt do. Being a fan of this team reminds me of a game my daughter had as a soph playing on the Varsity and playing shortstop.... the most difficult position to play on the field. She mad e a critical error late in the game that directly led to a loss in a game that decided the league title. The next day, the local picture had a picture of her making the error on the front page of the sports section. While the paper was BLASTED for doing that, I told her if she couldnt handle the pressure of playing that position on one of the best teams in the area, stop playing.

Thats how I feel as a fan of the Cowboys. We get needled by EVERYONE when things go poorly. Our team is in the spotlight all year. Jerry Jones gets a flat tire and it will be discussed on the sports shows for 30 minutes the next day. Every signing or free agent that leaves is put under a magnifying glass. How many times have we been hearing about the fact CeeDee Lamb doesnt have a new contract? Id guess Ive heard about it in about a 20:1 ratio compared to Jefferson. Why no talk about the vikings not locking Jefferson up yet? We dont know because nobody cares.

You can not change the fact that the Cowboys are a CASH COW. You can not get angry at Jerry Jones for making money off the most lucrative team in pro sports. Im already hearing the moaning and groaning about the netflix show coming up.

We are fans of the Dallas Cowboys, and there is nothing better than getting ready for the NFL season to start. This year, im getting a video processor that will allow me to put 4 games on my 135"projector screen at once, exactly like you would see in a sports bar.

I kow this is a rambling mess. Im all over the place... because I am like a kid waiting for Christmas. I actually enjoy all that comes with the season. The ups, the downs, the unknowns, the drama, the heartbreaking losses, the exhilerating wins. It is all a part of what has become my year long infatuation with the NFL.

So as we prepare for the upcoming season, slow down and smell the flowers. Weare lucky to be fans of the Dallas Cowboys. The rams and Iggles have both won a SB in the last few seasons. But just think how boring life would be if you were a fan of either of those teams. No thank you.

Now, Im off to have a drink and stare at my Jerry Jones poster for a few hours.....lol
Speak for YOURSELF
This team sucks and offers no more sense of enjoyment.

THERE IS NOTHING GREAT of being a fan of a MEDIOCRE TEAM

Been a Cowboys fan for over 53 years. For the last 28 years this franchise hasn't been great. This year will not be the exception.

You could have just minded your own business instead of rushing to be offended on someone else’s behalf. And then PUBLICLY BEGGING the mods to bench me…like a tattling schoolchild…over a super hero analogy?

I do think this will be a fun season.

We've taken a major step forward in re-building the OL.

Diggs returning and combining with Bland is something to excite you.

The LB corp is completely remade - a bigger group all around.

The RB and interior DL are concerning, but a bit of improvement from Mazi could change that picture.

So, regardless the year-end W-L record, it should be interesting.
I think this will be a fun year as well. We have a ton of young players and if they step up it will be exciting to see a bright future. And if these young cats step up we will some games. If they don’t step up then we’ll know exactly what we have to improve on moving forward.

My hope for this season is 2 fold. One hope is obviously win the Super Bowl which is my hope every year regardless of what we have on paper. My 2nd hope is we know exactly what we’re doing at the QB position. I hope Dak plays either so awesome or so poorly that it’s a crystal clear, easy decision of what to do after this season. I feel like Dak’s contract has been a polarizing issue for the fans, and maybe the team, since 2019 and I’m tired of it. I’m hoping at the end of 24 it is put to rest one way or another.

So for me this will be a fun season if the young cats develop and show out and the QB position is solidified as far as what to do moving forward.

Be careful you'll get baited, reported and benched. Thats how some people roll. They need more safe spaces.

I have faith in the mods to do their job without fear or favor. If any mod sees this thread and can see how the person I was responding to DID NOT TAKE OFFENSE, but the listless troll who has nothing to do but take offense for others and try to get other banned - HALL MONITOR - started the negative interactions. He's tried this tactic before...and now is trying to reduce the amount of posters in the offseason! Then insults me - unprompted - by telling me to "grow up". If any mod sees that and then blames me...go ahead and bench/cut/delete my account because that would be exposing a bias.

My "relationship" with the Cowboys is like they are one of my children. I love and support them no matter what. However, as with my own children, I get disappointed when they do bad things as I have taught them to do better. And I always have hope that they will overcome obstacles, just as I have hope for my kids. I hope this doesn't make me sound insane! LOL
Hah this is a good view on things.

It's like arguing with family. No, you're not happy to be right about something that is negative about your family. But if it is TRUE - and you turn out to be right in the end - it's not misery. No it's not bliss of everyone "getting along" but it's also like "I'm not as mad as you are because 1) the team is losing and most importantly, 2) you are wrong and I am right. There's solace in that in the end.

The worst is to "believe" and be duped year after year after year. At that point you are a tool or instrument of the organization. I use the Cowboys to add color to my life...they are not going to use me up like a wash rag.
