Picked up a few new dance moves, did you?

I think the trade talk is easier said then done. Plus, if you trade Spears you then hurt your depth at DE for this year. At best they'd get a #3 cornerback, which you really never know what you're going to get with those guys, especially since we'd be getting the CB right before the season started and he'd have to learn a new system.

I'd rather see us be a little patient with both Spears and Newman coming back healthy then to react like the Commanders would, which usually blows up in their face.

I could see us doing a trade and Newman coming back and not missing a beat and essentially wasting a trade when we could have used one of our 2 first rounders on a corner instead. And we probably are not going to get anybody worth their salt at this point anyway.

can we trade him for steven jackson?:bang2:

no..maybe action jackson...:bang2: :bang2:

think carl got some game left?

I'm not very interested in trading Spears. I would like to move him inside to NT though because I think his strength is in stopping the run. I still think he'll have a decent year.

How about we give Spears a few games into the regular season in this current system before screaming the trade threads.

Just goes to show you ....anyone can host an internet sports show. :D

I think we should get Hostile to take over a regular weekly live stream.

What say you Hos?

Im with you Hos..er Hostile!

I like how youz think. Put some more pork on him and move him inside. He is very stout against the run. Let him back-up Fergz.

i've often wondered why we didn't move spears to NT. then again our DL just makes me wonder at times as we're waiting for a lot of players to reach or go beyond their "potential". we seem to have put the names on LB and hope our DL can just get it together.

but yea, this SOMETHING MUST BE DONE mentality - gets old. while we can agree 11-5 would be a good year, after each of those 5 losses (if it pans out like that) will find it's share of people thinking we need to rush out and fix something.

even though they'd agree 5 losses is acceptable before the season started. yet one happens and it's panic time.

I like the idea of a young D-line who are all huge.

Hatcher, LDE
Spears, NT
Canty, RDE

Why give him a whole season to suck? That makes no sense.

It's not like he has ever shown he can be a good player in the 2+ years he has been in Dallas.

Tell me where he looked good in this training camp. He didn't. Tell me where he looked good besides playing against other college guys at LSU. He hasn't.

Cut the loss now while we can get what we can for him.

If he stinks so bad, then who is going to give us anything for him?

How many Mike Lynn's do you think are out there?

If you think you are going to get a decent corner for a defensive end that can't play (according to you), in late August, you are nuts.

You are better off taking your chances with a Quincy Butler or Joey Thomas, and hope for improved play from Spears. You will not get a better corner now than either of those two.

Works for me. Spears could still be 2nd on the depth chart at end, if need be. Spears can hold the LOS against anyone (or any double team). He just can't seem to penetrate it.

We don't have enough D-line depth to get rid of one of ours.

That's the long and short of it.

The last part is why I see him as a NT eventually.

How do you propose we get a good solid 3rd CB who can come in and play now in case Newman is out and maybe take over for Henry after this season?

We are all waiting.

Your waiting is over.
Answer: Trade Romo to Detroit for CB Stanley Wilson(Stanford grad, too).
YOU'RE WELCOME!

note: PLEASE make that trade...I just bet $50 on the Lions, at 150 to 1...

Even if the Cowboys wanted to trade Spears we wouldnt get alot because he hasn't done anything.
