Wild Speculation: Tank Going Rogue

This morning on the way to work while listening to 105.3 The Fan they were saying, “Tank went Rogue” and they decided to play a real defense out there. I caught the tail end of this but the context was implying they stopped listening to the coaches and played it differently than normal..

None of this playing “not to lose” scared conservative holding back stuff but actually “playing to win...”

First they tank on purpose, then they actually try to win and kick butt!! This is a clear message to the coaches and Jerry, we need better direction next year. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out or if this is really going on....

Could it be? Is it really happening?

Gotta be some stupid idea someone on the show had. The Rams' last two drives, the defense went into prevent mode, so I don't think they were ignoring the coaches. It's not like Lee said, "Screw them, I'm gonna intercept the ball!"

It makes sense. If you look at the sounds from the sideline K Richard actually tells Dbs okay if you guys are gonna press use outside leverage. The Dbs actually went and dictated to the coaches what scheme they were gonna play. I wonder if KR is undermining Maranelli.

I mean its clear they were. The defense at least, 1st half corners were more aggressive and heads up. That's why Richard was saying if your gonna play tight use outside leverage. I think they were doing there own thing. And I liked it.

No. I don't think that is at all what is happening.

I think your misunderstanding starts with the thinking that the players are thinking the same way that you do about what this team needs.

The only thing I would guess they could do is jam receivers when coaches want them off the ball.

I dont know if they "dictated" - they prob like WRs telling the coach to throw them the ball...

The Dbs might have gone to Richard and ask/told him to let them press these guys - I just find it sad that the coaches dont call plays/scheme to the players strength.

That was my reaction. Michael Irvin dictated that every play of his career be the team team throwing to him.
