Wild Speculation: Tank Going Rogue

This morning on the way to work while listening to 105.3 The Fan they were saying, “Tank went Rogue” and they decided to play a real defense out there. I caught the tail end of this but the context was implying they stopped listening to the coaches and played it differently than normal..

None of this playing “not to lose” scared conservative holding back stuff but actually “playing to win...”

First they tank on purpose, then they actually try to win and kick butt!! This is a clear message to the coaches and Jerry, we need better direction next year. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out or if this is really going on....

Could it be? Is it really happening?

No. I don't think that is at all what is happening.

I think your misunderstanding starts with the thinking that the players are thinking the same way that you do about what this team needs.

I think CF74 is being a messanger here. How it would be very generous to consider this even far fetched

Anyone have the back and forth between Lawrence Taylor and Parcells/Belichick where Taylor got a big sack, the coaches said the play wasn't in the playbook and Taylor replied something to the effect of "you better put it in then."?

An edge rusher going rogue isn't exactly unheard of.

Anyone who believes the players were just running around doing their own things on Sunday, is the same person who wants a football team, they claim to be a fan of, lose against the Eagles just to help there vendetta against one guy in the organization.

That's what I gathered. If he made that call on his own during the toss I would expect Garrett to get mad. But who knows. Maybe Garrett said before the game they wanted the ball and tank talked him out of it.

No tank said after the game he did it on his own...I believe he said hell naw we are going to play defense today.

that is what confused Dak. They were supposed to take the ball.

i remember thinking KR's reaction on the sack was a bit weird. not sure if this is related to the def supposedly not doing what the coaches wanted.....

Now that you mention it I remember Sean Lee doing this weird hand motion after he made his sack. I don't know anything about sign language but I think he was signaling to the fans on tv that they stopped listening to the coaches.

Ive been saying they just played totally opposite of the OC and DC tendencies. I wouldnt put it as going rogue i just think they swtiched up things that they just knew werent working. Like killing the normal passing plays in the redzone, to the DL playing to plug the inside gaps, and the CBs playing up on the LOS.

You can tell the team still believes in Garrett from reactions and he speaks to the team in his post game speech. I just dont think theyre buying 100% into what Moore and Richard are doing.

I'm not saying that's what happened but at some point they had to realize the coaching staff isn't going to be here next year & what they put on the field will be what they are judged on ....

The only thing I would guess they could do is jam receivers when coaches want them off the ball.
