Like most of us here I can only go by what I have read or seen on TV. I read two different articles that made mention of the steel plate when we drafted him. One said that a doctor that does physicals at the combine recommended that he not be taken higher than the third round due to the risk his back poses. The other said that many teams thought he had a steel rod fused to his spine and were surprised to learn that it was a steel plate screwed to the spine instead. I have not seen anything refuting the claims since then; if you have seen such a refutation I would be interested to see it or hear what was said. I would feel much better about Fasano if this turned out to be false.
I willing to bet that those "articles" you speak of were really posts. There is no way Pro Football Weekly and Mel Kiper both would fail to mention such an injury and then all the local Dallas media on top of that. Someone even asked Mickey about it and he didn't have any clue what they were talking about.

Ugh, I'm not arguing with you. I like Jason Witten a lot. Really. I'm just saying the reason he fell to the 3rd is because he's not that great of a raw athlete. Lucky for us.
I wasn't arguing with you I just tried to state that Witten, doesn't need to be a raw althlete to move the chains.

He know's how to get open and occasionally goes deep for a pass it's not just you who underestimate Witten's speed, it's some of the mediots too.

I would love too have any one of those TEs, you mentioned on my team any day of the week.

To me Witten, is underrated due to the likes of Crumpler, Gates, Gonzalez, and Shockey even with the Pro Bowls.

Another TE, that is underrated is Chris Cooley, and yeah I know he play for the Skins, but this guy can play football too.:star:

I read a Fantasy Football Mag where they had the top TEs and they are: 1. Gates, 2. Gonzalez, 3. Heap, 4. Crumpler, 5. Cooley, and 6. Witten.

Witten, is very under appreciated in the mags, and some fans alike.

He was helping with the blocking assignments last season due to the poor performance of the OTs, and still had over 700yds and 6 TDs.

How they rated Heap, ahead of Witten, is weird do to the fact that he beat out Heap, in yards and TDs.

I like Heap, and he too is an underrated TE, in the AFC due to the attention that Gates, and Gonzalez gets.

Another TE, to keep an eye on is Kellen Winslow Jr., if he has his head in the right place and stop doing stupid things the he too will be in the upper echelon of TEs in the NFL.

I guess Heap's stock is rising amongst the NFL Fantasy Football bretheren because McNair, will find him often this season knowing he likes to throw to TEs.
