No, at least when the game was on the line they actually made a play to prevent the opponent from scoring at will. Instead of folding like a cheap tent.

How is holding Seattle's offense in check for practically the entire game worse than allowing Tim Rattay and the 49ers to march up and down the field for three and a half quarters?

Because at the end of the day. The end result in the only thing that matters. They needed a stop and they got the job done. Too bad i can't say the same thing from the last two weeks.

A quote from his news conference today:
"What did Todd Haley do to upset you?
We got a memo from the league about conduct towards officials with the official getting punched. We’ve also have two other players in the league ejected for language to officials. So I read it to the coaches and players, and told them I would be the one who talks to the officials. So I told him to stop, and he didn't. So I had to have a little talk with him. That’s the genesis of all that."

Let me translate:

"We got a memo from the league about conduct towards officials with the official getting punched...... so, I punched Todd Haley to tell him to stop mistreating officials."

I don't care what anyone says:

1. The media is intimidated by Parcells. I can't believe he got off so easy on this one.

2. His conduct on the sidelines is without excuse.

When will someone hold this coach accountable on something instead of bow low in his presence constantly?

BP is the leader of this team--it is simple, do what he ask you to do and they will be no problems!

OMG, talk about blowing it WAY out of proportion.

Here's some advice for you... go get yourself a wash cloth, get it wet, scrub some soap on it, then wash the sand out of your eyes.

I'm with you on this one, rcaldw. What Bill did was inexcusable. He shouldn't have Haley. And the fact no one wants to tell him it was unacceptable or question why he did it that way shows you they're more interested in keeping open lines of communication with Bill than holding him accountable.

But sports reporters are like that sometimes. They don't want to bite the hand that feeds them.

Now that was very classless not to mention tasteless.

This is not being blown WAY out of proportion. Tell me how many head coaches do you see punching their assistants.

That's also my viewpoint. I commented to my friend during the game, that if you mess up on Bill's team, you'are gonna get cussed out. Bill don't care about your feelings, about damaging your confidence or anything like that. I was laughing like crazy. How many players did you see get cussed out yesterday on their way back to the sidelines: Rivera, Piles, etc.

Bill don't care. I'm sure those guys get cussed out on the regular all during the week. You can either take it or go to the owner and complain. I wouldn't want to be the guy who goes to Jerry and ask him to talk to Bill and tell him to stop cussin me out. They can do like everybody else, write a book about him after you leave. :lmao:

And, who's fault is it that BP intimidates the media? If they're scared ... call the police. Just like I told my supervisor Friday, you said you couldn't do anything about it so I went to someone who could. I'm not gonna just sit here and be content ... but I digress. :)

Hey, I'm looking to hire someone. Would you like to work for me? Of course, if you do something I don't agree with, I will slap your head 'till it spins. Also, if I promote you to supervisor, don't be surprised if I put one of my 10 1/2s straight up your butt right in front of your subordinates if you disappoint me in any way. After all, you screw up, you deserve to be humiliated in front of the entire team, if need be.

There are getting to be way too many jerks like you who laugh when they see another person being humiliated by someone they've elevated to God-like status, but would file a million dollar law suit if that same person so much as looked at you the wrong way.

What a joke!:lmao:

I agree. I've watched the replay, and I don't see a punch anywhere. It was more like a violent shove reflecting "back the hell up, I've already told you once."

I've watched the replay too. He didn't just shove him, he slung at him. He didn't punch him in the face but he didn't punch him.

But then again, there are those who thought Rodney King wasn't really being beat by the police, the night sticks were just cruising on automatic.

Apologists will rationalize anything.

Oh, I see. When someone doesn't agree with you, it's rationalization.

I've rarely seen anyone try to punch a guy with two arms, except maybe when they were drunk.

Great analogy with Rodney King, seeing it was like 6v1 and the guys battered him with night sticks multiple times. And you're talking about rationalization?

I don't think BP's "punch" as you call it was anything but "get the hell back, I've already told you once," and I don't think Haley thinks otherwise either.

The only person that choked in this game was the Coach.......The O had two chances to put this game away, what did we do? we retreated into a shell......and what plays did we call? We did not call one play going for the TD......we played for the FG.

Where were the redzone plays we used against Philly or variations thereof? Sorry but that was pathetic.

I'm glad that not everyone is letting Parcells off the hook here. I think he's too stubborn to change because his conservative style wins more than it loses. We unfortunately have to take the good with the bad.

I personally think a few choice words would've effectively backed Haley promtly. Bill losing it was indication of us unraveling.
