First of all, I might be the biggest fan of our young TEs, Hendershot, Schultz, even McKeon. But if you're Dalton Schultz and you're logging nearly 100 yards and 2 TDs along with some key blocks in the playoffs after being tagged in somewhat of a prove it year, and you keep that up moving forward, you might be making a case to justify getting the payday you want.

Schultz, and the other TEs, have been Dak's so-called security blanket.

What I really like is something I heard in McCarthy's press conference after win at Bucs: that Schultz actually goes to the QB meetings.

He had a slow start this year with the injury early on, but if he closes with a bang, Schultz could be on his way to earning that payday he was wanting this offseason.

Only time will tell, but if I was Dalton Schultz, I'd continue attending those QB meetings.
Kellen Moore's scheme is TE friendly.

Schultz with penalty in the Bucs game when trying to block and multiple whiffs on blocks.

Aikman pointed out that TE blocking has been a big part if the problem with the run game. I think he was referring to Schultz because he said it after the Schultz penalty.

Last offseason, he was asking for a David Njoku contract (4 years/$60M). This offseason he will get it.

He is a proven receiver in a league that has been paying out the nose for receivers. And he offers some OK-ish blocking in a league that needs blocking TEs to run the Shanahan/McVay offense, but is starved for them. I could see Green Bay writing him a big check. And keep an eye on whoever hires Sean McVay's cousin's boyfriend this offseason.

Dalton schultz does nothing special and cant block.

Any other TE can do what he does in the passing game.
If you ask me, I would disagree. He's just a tad smarter than most players, most of the time, and that gives him a competitive edge and makes him a pretty good weapon in the right offense.

Didn't you also say LVE was trash, and should be replaced by Cox?

It’s also an absolutely loaded TE draft class so it’s be incredibly stupid to give him big money. About as dumb as giving a RB big money.

But we have Jerry, so he’ll likely become the highest paid TE of all time.

He’s still not worth the $. Ferguson can do everything he can and then some.

I like all of our guys. But it just seems like Dalton stepped it up at the right time, and also helped the rookies grow, which made us an overall better team.

We didn't have this kind of TE power last year, which means we're an improved team.

Remember, we keep 4 TEs.

Not saying top TE in the league money, but he brings enough to the table.

97 yards in receiving is a nice playoff game. 2 TDs as well, as well as some key blocks.

If he has another playoff game like that, the conversation changes.

I really hope he gets paid big so the Cowboys get a high compensatory pick. He came a long way from a draft prospect to a everyday contributor.
This.

Question is, do you want them to pay Shultz or a legit #2 receiver? Can't have both.

For the record, i'm good with Shultz.

Gallup is my guy. I may get another weapon. But Gallup and Lamb are my guys... They're both better when you have a legit threat at TE.

Funny how so many said Schultz sucked and that Dallas was stupid for giving him the franchise tag.....yet in spite of being injured and missing 2games this season Schultz was the 2nd leading Dallas receiver, the 2nd most targeted receiver, had the 2nd most receiving TD's, had the 2nd most receptions, the 2nd most receiving yards per game average, and the 3rd most yards after the catch.....and was one of the main reasons Dallas won last night.
And still gets trashed here

He got Paid this year, isn’t he getting $12m for this 1 year contract? Pretty good payday and it looks like it will only get better for him. Next year we need to add a stud rookie receiver, and another fast starting quality rb as Pollard will be bye bye.
