Will Jerry ever bring in a proven HC again?

Jerry has only brought in a proven HC twice in his era. Initially to set the teams course bringing them out of potential bankruptcy and the second time to resurrect from a 5-11 Funk to gain public support for a new stadium.

What would it take for Jerry to set his ego aside again or stop his pursuit of trying to prove he can build and win a championship without a proven HC who’d receive more credit than him?

Or are we stuck in this situation until Jerry’s last breathe barring a total collapse or financial barrier?

Remember he tried winning championships with a great HC but didn’t like not receiving the credit he was pursuing. What gives us hope Jerry will change?
Jason Garrett has become proven.....does that count?

I wish.
And now.
This is the best team we've had in 25 years.
He wasted Romo's and Whitten's careers
Please go get Payton.
Or, maybe, just maybe, this team does it on their own.
One can hope.
I think Dak sees this clearly, and just might have the wherewithal, to force his will to win, on this team.

Jerry is anything but a failure

He has 3 rings, HoF, new Stadium, new Practice Campus, 250 yacht and the team is worth 5b for a 160m investment

SJones is too cheap and needs to get some wildcatting from his Daddy.... he can Draft well but he needs to spend some FA money

There are two Jerrys here. There is Jerry, the owner/businessman, who has accomplished some impressive things - marketing the Cowboys to the most valuable franchise in sports, the new stadium, The Star, etc.

Then there is Jerry the owner/GM. He's been largely a failure. His only SBs are from over two decades ago when he worked in tandem with Jimmy Johnson to build those SB teams. Since Jimmy left and Jerry took full control of personnel, etc........... the results have been pretty sad.

It does....I guess some fans think that they are easy to win

the Eagles won their only title last year in 53 tries

do you subtract the 3 rings from Brady that he won 15-17 years ago when you praise him or do they all count???
Yes but the reason Jerry won those 3 rings is preventing him from an opportunity for more with his intent to do it without a HC like Jimmy.

Yeah no serious coach would want 10m to coach the Dallas Cowboys....... get real

Well when a proven coach can make $8MM somewhere else and have more control, yeah.

What proven coach, that has probably already made millions and can paid a crap ton elsewhere is going to come here and have his job micromanaged by Jerry, where Jerry picks the players, Jerry picks his assistants, etc. Few, if any. You might get lucky where you get an older, proven coach who simply wants to run out his career coaching and not have to worry about personnel or the other issues facing most head coaches.

Whatever you need to tell yourself..... the line would be around the block to coach here

Who hired Jimmy and what did Jimmy win without Jerry?

LOL.

Jimmy lasted a few more years in a bad situation in Miami and bailed out and retired. But Jimmy's resume speaks for itself.

Jerry has made all the calls for over 20 years - personnel, coaches, etc.

And we have 6 playoff wins in 23 years, have not seen a NFCCG in 23 years, etc.

By any rational, non-homer measure, Jerry the GM has been a poor GM.

Like it was all the other times we hired a coach?

Give me some names. What established, big time head coaches would want this job?

Those are the type of fans who haven’t forced the issue with Jerry and he continues breaking records with revenue without the continued success on the field.

Tell us why Jerry isn’t pursuing any of these type HC’s and offering them 10m?
Because his HC was won 3 Division Titles in the last 5 years with 48 wins and has a loaded young roster and 80m in Cap Space

Where is the BS?

Jerry seized complete control of football operations after Jimmy left. They won a SB in 1995 with the team Jerry and Jimmy built.

Since then, when Jerry has had sole control of trades, FA, draft, personnel, coaching, etc. they have 6 playoffs wins in 23 years.

In what freaking world is that a successful run? We aren't talking a down 5-6 year period. We are talking about a 23 year run where the Cowboys have performed in the bottom third of the league. LOL.

Jimmy lived off his Miami record and knowing all the best college players when he went Pro

He was given the gift of 3 overall 1st rounders and stash of Draft picks because his owner made the Herschel trade...... Jimmy had a great staff too..... he was not alone

LOL. So true.

Oh wait, Jerry the great GM thinks Jason Garrett is actually ones of those elite coaches.
Imagine what we could do with a great HC.

Garrett is best puppet we’ve had but it illustrates the limits Jerry’s ways places on Cowboys Football.
