i wouldn't be against trading jj as long as we could get a high third for him. don't get me wrong. i like jj, i think he's a good back, but that's all he is. just another good back. trade jj for a high third and draft michael bush. should get him with the 2nd round pick unless his stock just takes off between now and the draft.

We all hope that your post gets owned next season. JJ & MBII better be the best RB tandem next year.

Hey I hope I get owned too, but c'mon... he said the "Worst case scenario" is they end up the best RB tandem in the NFL. That's ridiculous. I can think of WAY "worst case scenarios" then that. He called out the BEST case scenario, not the worst.

you remember who we got last year as our fourth right? skyler green.

julius is worth more than a fourth.

You remember who our 4th round pick was the year before?

MB3 and Chris Canty. In the eyes of Cowboys fans JuJo is worth more, but in the eyes of the NFL (the eyes that coun t) he most likely isn't worth that much.

we also got barber and canty out of 4th round and david lefleur and shante carver out of the first round.

jj is definetly worth more than a 4th, but skyler isn't exactly a good representation of the talent available in the 4th.

no but id say JJ is more of a sure thing a gamble of a fourth round pick. and its not like JJ is old or washed up and we need to unload him. I dont see the purpose of it. I'd like to see him used less and barber used more but as for trading him for a fourth, i think it's too much of a gamble for a team that is trying to win now. we dont need to unload our proven talent for youth, we're not trying to rebuild, we should have gone 11 and 5 last year at minimum, especially with romo playing all year. JJ is a good back, especially for a guy who splits his carries. Anything better than him and people who whine even more that MBIII doesnt get enough touches. I guess I just dont trust our drafting abilities enough to unload JJ for a draft pick unless that pick is a third minimum. however with a new coach maybe our draft outlook gets better.

I think there is no way we should go for this you don't get a feature back in the 3rd/4th and that extra pick doesnt mean we can trade up all that far I'd much rather give JJ his contract year with a new system, new coaches and a fresh start.

Also has anyone got any quotes from JJ about the new coaching staff, is he excited about this year?

Just love how the homersquad has come out to play with this thread. jones has one year left on his contract and although last year was his best year he still has missed a lot of time with injuries and last season he wore down in the second half. teams know this even if the kool aid crew is in full effect here.

if we can get a 3rd or 4th for him then its all good in the hood.

Losing McGahee, will they get Julius for perhaps a second round or first?

Your thoughts fans...

I would have to think about it for a 2nd, for a first rd pick, i'd probably trade him, although I doubt anyone gives us a 1st. If we could get a high 2nd for him, and grab Michael Bush I would be happy with that. I really doubt we trade him though.

Not out of me. If it weren't for the Cowboys Green would of gone undrafted.

tough call, a 4th is probably right. We all have to keep in mind,we wont be able to keep JJ and Barber once there contracts are up. We wont be able to pay both big money.

Big money? I don't see how with them splitting carries they would be demanding big money...but still, I guess there wouldn't be a need to pay two rbs when you can get one of them in the draft. Of course, that is Dallas weakness in being able to draft productive players.

Surely these um, football fans are just having fun wit us.
If not they are beyond help.
Worst case scenario: Cowboys, with JJ and Barber have the best RB tandem in the NFL.
Ridiculous for a third or fourth rounder for JJ.

A third round pick for a mediocre running back would be a good trade for the Cowboys. And you seriously think that JJ and MB3 are the best tandem in the league?!

If we do trade JJ, then that means Barber has to carry the load--big difference Zoners!

Have you seen FA develop the last two years? Middle of the road guards, like Dockery and Davis, get 50M with 20M guaranteed.

The Bush that broke his leg in Sept? That seems like a risky pick. Is it is freak thing or is it something that will haunt him for years?

What I don't get is the thinking of a 3rd round pick is good. We used a 2nd round pick on JJ. So if we get anything less, we are losing value. It seems to me that we need to use a 2nd round pick or higher to get a better back. Why trade a guy you know for anything less than you have?

As I posted the other day when I started a thread like this, it is odd that this won't go away. Is it just speculation? It doesn't make much sense.
