speculation for speculations sake. I had not realized that McGahee's stats were virtually the same as JJs.
Keep wondering where this BS comes from about JJ wearing down. His carries were reduced- that tends to have an effect on production. And of course the last 6 games we were coming from behind a lot so running the ball did not happen much for either of our backs. I guess that is the difference from people who look at everything and those that never look at anything. especially the fuzzy one.

Trade Julius for a 3rd rounder that they got from Baltimore and than trade up w/ the Browns to get Adrian Peterson. This years 1st, one of our 3rd round picks and next years 1st. The Browns arn't 1 player away there about 22 players away, they need picks and they don't an RB now that they got Lewis. Keep Barber for goaline and to spell Peterson. P/U OLB in 2nd round this year and P/U WR in our other 3rd.

but i wouldn't be totally against getting a third rounder
He only has one more year on his contract, and let's face it, with his injury history and Marion Barber standing behind him, he's not going to be resigned for big money.

Jerry will get what he can for Julius, probably on draft day. If I had to look into my crystal ball, I would guess that we use him to move up in the first day, maybe from our second into the low first.

what a joke. Not going to happen. No way do we try and trade up that high in the draft. we would have to use NEXT years first as well. Outside of Calvin Johnson, no one is worth that (except for Quinn, of course- heh heh; had to add that to get Just Say No to have a stroke).

Obviously there was a reason he had to share carries.

Please, all of this man love for Julius needs to stop, he struggled this year, and a 3rd round pick would be a godsend for us. IMO MB3 can carry the load. I just think with this new offensive line we are forming MB3 would be a much better back to run behind it.

He has a history of injuries as well, in the pros and in college. Also this is the last year of his deal and we probably wont resign him by next offseason.

I for one don't understand how fast people can turn on a player, Jones has shown flashes of being a GREAT back. I am still very optimistic that he can and will return to form once he has a coach that let him trust his own instincts. I believe it will be a huge mistake to not give him one more year, especially since Parcells won't be here. I really do like Barber, love his running style but be realistic his best game does not come close to JJs. It doesn't come close to the worst of his top five games.

just speculating he could. Michael Smith was giving an NFL report on sportcenter just now and said he could be shipped to Buffalo for a draft pick. One of the picks that they got for McGahee supposedly. I don't know.....we've all been disappointed with JJ to some extent, but he's always shown flashes and the O.Line has been pretty poor too.....my gut says to keep him one more year and he could bust out. Problem of course is he's a Unrestricted FA after this season. Tough call.

I was hoping for a McGahee/Jones trade. (almost expected it to happen)

I want Jones to return as well but I don't agree about Barber. Dallas offense seem to struggle in the 1st half of game in the 2nd half Barber would start seeing more action and the offense started moving. Jones had way too many games 11 to be exact where he did very little in terms of establishing consistent rushing yards. I agree Jones should remain but he has to produce and no longer can Parcells be used as a scape goat. BP did not hurt Barber and he did not hurt Jones, JJ needs to step up and prove himself.

I'd like to see Julius behind a good OL with the freedom to do what he did as a rookie. But if he does end up getting traded, I'd love to see Michael Bush in Dallas.

I wouldn't trade Julius Jones away for less than it would take to replace him.

I think it takes a 2nd round draft pick to replace him.

So that's what I'd need for him. And if there are no takers, so be it.

I'd trade him for Buffalo's #2. We would then be able to take either Bush (Louisville) or Irons (Auburn). Both of these guys would have been #1s if not for injuries last year.

The reason I would consider pulling the trigger is that while JJ is very good, he isn't great. If he has a 1,200 yard season, we might not want to pay him the $$ he will want in a year. By trading JJ and drafting a good RB, we save some $$ and gain a few years with a young back.

a third for julius jones? thats ridiculous.. jones would have easily had 1,300 yards last year if he didnt have to compete with marion barber...no 1 can disagree with this.. its only a little over 100 more yards than he did have..and if leonard davis is the monster were all hoping he will be then julius will have an even better year since hes good in space

:hammer: I think he would have had more yards if they did not reply too much on Romo.

I just don't understand the "JuJo SUX!!!!" crowd. You'd think the guy was Troy Hambrick or something.

I think people expect more out of our starting RB. Barber comes in to the games in the second half and the offense seems to get a spark, we need that from Jones. He is suppose to be the break away RB yet he has 5 runs over 20 yards while Barber has 4 with half the carries. This has nothing to do with hate it has to do with production.

If we do trade JJ, then that means Barber has to carry the load--big difference Zoners!

No it doesn't. It means we have to find another "split the load" back in the draft. We also have T. Thompson, so we may already have they guy.

I doubt we could get equal talent with a trade for JJ ....... so I do not see the point in trading him ....

Barber got those (long) runs in 3rd and long situations when the opponents defense was in nickel.

It's been said here before, for me the issue is Jone's contract status. Let's say he has a 1400 yd season next year, what is he going to be worth as an UFA? $10 - $15 million guranteed? I really don't know. You willing to pay that? If not, you get nothing. Trade him now and you at least get draft pick(s).
