will: going to drink coffee, then apple,.will be grumpier later so ur guys ok for now
jaylon first time to put on pads, to be where he is, really instinctive, really good to be where he is now,
jaylon-i dont want to put any timeline on him, he will push him to be where he needs to get, determination he has shown to overcome where he is now (from where he has come) im not doubting him, and he has that dak personality, to where guys navigate to him, just a unique kid
i think he can adjust to what he has to deal with, that instinct, another muscle fires to overcompensate that
one of big things we look for, a guy loves the game, he has super love for the game, we look to see if they understand, love the game
dak, takes a lot of digging from coaches, college, u have to dig to get the feel, finding those things out, we put them in a situation how they react
jorday lewis: everybody we talked to, college, high school, with issue that came up, all background stuff we did, man deserved his opportunity to play
taco: has size speed, till we find a war daddy were going to add collectively, 8 guys we have,
tapper: had injury, extremely explosive, very fast, college didnt use his physical traits
demarcus: has something to prove, pressure to prove he is that guy, on his back, always a concern and worked himself into shape, i see positive things from him
needing a war daddy, u never know how guys are going to do till they get here, we find them, get them here
tapper, does he have agility, work ethic, character to grind, mareneli is something else,
will, played football in 1972, thought i wanted to coach, put team together in arena league, then got to work with cowboys, he listens to u, checks all ur bullets
noah: yes tough for him to make 53 but its our job to make it tough for him but he has the traits, to contribute,
whole coaching staff, joneses, we get ideal to see what is best for us for pieces in regards to 8 linemen, 6 wr etc
always looking to improve our football team
no its not unique for players to play with nipple ring, will says i wouldnt play with it
hillman, were going to add players that can add things to team, linehan has way to add players to help team, hillman is like a dunbar type player
jordan: lot of people we talked to (teams) had him in 2nd round, instinctive, can get to ball, but fell due to issue
always looking to improve team, my objective, i love them all like cousins but my job is to replace u when we bring them in,
we started looking at players for draft this may for (2018)
we had 6 to 7 guys we had in mind when we picked taco, no i cant name those players
we want to know value of player (when we picked jaylon) joneses are the judge,
u want the player to stick out, but with tag, his injury, jaylon then we show that and why he fell and his value

So not a "war daddy". Just another body to throw at it and hope that by combining several players you might get the production of one "war daddy"?

Interesting.

hillman, were going to add players that can add things to team, linehan has way to add players to help team, hillman is like a dunbar type player

He is a decent receiver. But McClay really needs to get a grip here. There is only ONE Lance Dunbar. That kind of generational talent is hard to replace.

I took it to mean they had 6-7 guys they thought might be there. Not that all of them were necessarily still available.

If he says "in mind", it leads me to think it came down to that group.

Why would they have a player "in mind" that is already gone?

I mean, you can't throw those kind of expectations on any player. It's just not fair.

Whats the expectation for Taco?

I think he's going to be a really good pro. Probably a David Irving type at some point and at the end of the first round i'll take that in our rotation.

He's also a clean player and not someone I think will get suspended.

Taco will be fine. It was one practice.
On The Fan this morning, some guy, Gavin? He was really bad mouthing Taco, saying he was slow, this, that, even said he looked like a 5th round pick. Like he would know...Broaddus has more sense than this...LOL...
The other guy said, wait, it is one practice, give him some time, there is a lot of TC left.
Then Gavin said, he didn't want to sound like a hater, but it's just what he seen. I think he sounded like a hater.

Yep...what can you expect from a pick 28?

If he's a 6 sack guy that's stout against the run...he is worth his draft pick. The team is trying to put together a collection of these 6-8 sack guys...that's what the Seahawks did when they were at their best.

Well, certainly not "war daddy" if McClay's reaction is anything. Sounds like they have the bar set at if he is a contributor in a rotation of six players.

That was the plan all along for the entire DL.
If a "war daddy" emerges, then great...but if all just do their job, then collectively they can be the "Orphan War Daddies"

Which is where I think it should be.

He just looks like that kind of player but his size and how intelligent he seems to be give me hope for more then that but i'm thinking the floor is something like David Irving.

That would surely not be surprising, nor devastatingly disappointing in his first year.

It might be in year two, though. Taco is considered best for playing the run, anyhow.

'In mind' going into the draft. And then they ended up with at least one of those guys when they were on the clock.

Impossible to say for sure, but we do know they wanted DBs and DEs, and that they forewent DB in round 1 because of the depth of the position. There weren't 6-7 DE candidates remaining when they were on the clock at 28.

But you don't know if they did and didn't like the value offered.

So let's speculate.
28(28) Cowboys - Charlton

29(29) Browns (From Packers) - Njoku
Packers traded out for first pick of the 2nd round and a 4th.

30(30) Steelers - Watt

31(31) 49ers (From Seahawks through Falcons) - Foster

Seahawks traded down for second pick of the 2nd round and a 4th.

32(32) Saints (From Patriots) - Ramcyzk

Then Kevin King, Cam Robinson, Malik McDowell, Budda Baker. The next D-lineman picked was DeMarcus Walker at 51, and it is debatable if he would be an end or tackle in Dallas. Not other true end type goes until Kpassagnon before our pick with Awuzie right after him.

If you go off what really happened, they were probably offered a high second and a fourth, and that is all, they were probably just better off and taking the last of the Mohicans if they felt compelled to force the DE pick.

"In mind when we picked Taco" tells me that they had that number of players they chose from while on the clock. I don't think anyone said they were DEs.

They already came out and implied the second part of what you said. The DB depth helped them make up their minds.
