He proved he is a mismatch in the Red Zone...... that is a specialized role right there
That is the most overrated skill set.

To be active on gamedays, as part of the 53, you better be able to do more than be prepared for what might be at best a couple of opportunities a game.

Give me an unlimited roster size, I keep some kind of "mismatch in the Red Zone".

Just a serious question with zero snark.

What on earth makes some of you so eager to see him hit the field, right now, when the die is already cast for the offense?

What exactly is it that you think he will do?

Run roughshod like he did in the preseason against players that are not even in the league anymore?

Is he so beastly that you just can't wait?

For me I’m not eager so much as curious. The guy is intriguing and I’d like to see if he’s got the goods. A new wrinkle for an offense that hasn’t quite had the same dominance as last year is worth exploring imo. And not like it would be at the expense of any world beaters

yeah because Bene, NBrown, Swaim, DMC, KMoore, Durant and Wilber all add so much to this team

This is not a Madden roster where you can march out your fourth string super duper Antonio Gates like TE to make a score.

The no snark went out the window when the original question was not even answered.

All there is an impression that he is just some beast that is ready to take over.

No regard to whether he can block. No regard how he fits on special teams.

Because if he is on the roster, he is going to have to do those things.

All people think about is OMG he beat that Raiders scrub for a TD in the preseason.

I answered the question. And if “omg he beat that raiders scrub “ isn’t valid, *** were you looking for. None of us have and inside, undisclosed info we can only go off the little bit we’ve seen and the apparent faith the staff has

I am not even sure he is healthy. At any rate, how many TEs are we going to carry? He would make 5.
He does not have to come off of IR now. You'll likely hear about him practicing 2 weeks prior to being activated.

He's a matchup nightmare. I'm not sure he can't block. What does it take to block versus what does it take to be a 6'7 290lbs guy with good speed, lateral movement and hands? He can learn to block. It's technique and desire...

He's being redshirted but did suffer from a serious concussion. It's really in the air at this point but I do believe Dallas is taking it as a chance to keep a guy they believe isn't ready to play at the moment.

Most likely, it will be next season before we see if Rico can contribute. If not, he will be let go. I believe this is GOATs last season.

If they have 1-on-1 blocking of DL vs TEs in practice, he'll be the best blocker of all the TEs on the roster.

The issue is the nuances of blocking in a real game. When he can just go head up on a DL he is terrific, but he does not always know who to block or he'll block to the DL's outside shoulder when he should be going for their inside shoulder which allows them to slip off of the block to the side towards the RB.

Will Rico EVER be a factor?? Can he, in fact, play in the NFL?
We don't know that and if we were smart, we would take another year to find out rather than do what fan boys want which is promote him to the active roster and watch him embarrass himself.
