I play Sanchez in that situation citing Tony Romo's risk of injury. No one would question playing Sanchez in a non-meaningful game.
Just gonna throw Romo to the wolves without any prep at all? Plus if they plan on trading Romo.......might want to show people he can actually play and take hits.
You don't risk him being injured. He's a vet who can step in and still make this offense run effectively. May be a little rusty, but if anyone can overcome right away, he can.
But what's the difference between him getting hurt now and in the playoffs? If he gets hurt prepping for future play than he's just going to get hurt. He needs to take some
NFL hits again.
I think Romo wants to play next year. Playing now probably helps generate interest from other teams this off-season. If he can take just one hit and get up, then I think more teams will be interesting in him.First, I don't know if I'm a fan of resting a rookie QB. I think he needs all the experience he can get. But IF we continue winning and do get the opportunity to rest some of our players down the stretch, would Romo want to play?
I understand he WOULD play. I'm just wondering what his mentality would be towards it. My gut says he's so competitive that he would. I think he'd want to remind everyone he can still play...even if he's auditioning for another team next year.

Dangerous waters if Romo plays, he might light it up and force a controversy headed into the playoffs
And he would never admit it in a million years, but he would want to get out there and light it up.
Yes, good lad.
I imagine many teams want a 37-year-old who is skeletally fragile. And expensive.
Only Cleveland will bite! LOL
You don't think Denver would love to give Romo a shot right now?
Don't think the Jets would love to bring him in for next year?
Houston would be a way better team with him; too bad they're committed to Brock Osweiler now.
Yeah, you're naive or don't realize the severe lack of talent at the QB position in the NFL if you don't think someone would want him.
Denver already bit on a very similar situation with Peyton Manning coming off a very serious neck injury at about 38 years old or something......
Romo might light it up. Bad for business in an odd way. I don't think the coaches know what they want to do right now.
Absolutely. I have no issues.Still, he's earned that right.
