Yes... similar to golf swing.... if you dont follow through completely through the ball you will go right or slice... I know:D

...it's getting old. Real fast. He needs to figure this out because as some forum members have correctly pointed it out it's showing up in his PATs also.

He can cover for this on close kicks , but as he ventures out beyond the 40 yard line it is going to become an issue as the field of flight narrows.

This could be a real problem for this team in some close games. He was brought in here specifically to account for a three game difference we had last year. So far all we have gotten is a 70% kicker.

Knowing that was going to be the case I would have chased after Steve Hutchinson and kept Cundiff.

Yes. A game is 4 days away.
Yes. Money is involved.
No. There is no one better out there... but if he keeps missing there will be.

Seriously.... enough has not been said.... this guy is a liability. If Manning had one more big play in him this game could have went the other way.

We got this guy to make it so that when we line up for the kick we arent shaking in our shoes.... nothing has changed
You can live in an Aldo Nova fantasy world if you choose. Just don't invite me to visit because I'm like buckets of ice cold water to wake you up.

Even if we signed another kicker and de-activated Vanderjagt, they would not waive him because it is a cap hit. They could save money by not getting rid of him in other words.

His 2 misses today were hardly chip shots. If they have been inside 40 maybe this theory of yours has some legs. Since that isn't case let's call it what it is...lame.

I hate kickers, and this guy is no different, so I'm not making excuses for him. I'm just telling you like it really is in the real world. Where teams are not managed like a Madden season and guys who are struggling are not waived just because some fans are up in arms.

You can wake up and smell the coffee or miss breakfast. Your call. I'm telling you what's on the table. If you wake up now, it won't be cold.

That's the reality of the situation. Ignore it if you wish, but sticking your head in the sand like an ostrich just shoves grains up sand up your nose and ears. Not recommended.

i would have to agree, i have also noticed that on his PATs it also starts heading to the right. i actually thought he was going to miss that first PAT.

I just read on Dallascowboy.com that Vanderjack is saying he feels like it's a timing thing - that he is arriving a fraction too early at the ball and kicking it before he's really ready. He didn't explain why his timing is suddenly off, but there's got to be some mental stuff going on with him.

My cynic hat never comes off where it pertains to kickers.

Ever.

They are not automatic. Not even when they add that nickname or call themselves the most accurate kicker in NFL history.

Either he will get it figured out or he won't. You heard Bill Parcells unless your head was in the sand. "I don't have another kicker." I don't know, maybe sand is in your eyes too.

Why you think I'd excuse him for blowing a playoff game is a head scratcher to me. Way off base there. He could win a playoff game on a clutch kick and I'd still dislike him.

This is just another way to mask frustration that we overpaid for this guy instead of overpaying for Adam Vinatieri. I get that.

I still want to invite you to take a trip in the real world. We're probably stuck with this yahoo all season. It has already been explained why.

Coffee or sand?

Vandy will not get released because there are no real options out there, however Vandy best get his act together with no more BS excuses. he needs to do put effort in at practice during the week to get this corrected. I don't care what he did in the past right now he is blowing it pushing everything to the right.

Yeah... BP said other things besides "I dont have another kicker"... maybe youe head was somewhere too for that?

"head in sand", "sand in eyes", "real world"? yeah Hos you continue to be... uh, cute.

Masked frustration about Vinatieri? No.
Although I would have prefered Adam... he is not on the team. Now that Vandy is on the team he aint getting it done. THAT is my frustration.

Tea, thank you.

out for drinks and get him drunk, I mean flat out wasted.. then get him into a fight(that hopefully he wins) and then take him to the field and kick FG's tries.... while drunk

Something has to get his confidence back... he wont find it during games and he will be costing us in the process.

Anyone see the movie, "The Guardian"

I don't care if Moses himself came to kick in Big D, he would still miss. I think it is in the water.

Me personally, I think we can probably hire almost anybody off the streets, pay them a million bucks a season, and get them to come in as the 26th ranked kicker in the league. JMO of course.

From the nerve center of accuate thought and conjecture:

No head scratching here (haven't had lice for 3 months now).

If we excuse him for blowing two field goals here, the logical conclusion would be he'd also be excused in the playoffs.

Except in the playoffs there are no excuses. And no tomorrows.

Think about it people. Outside of the wash game- where it was a blown block not the kicker- we have not needed a FG to win a game this year. Its Karma that getting Vandy means we do not have to worry about it. Its the same as taking an umbrella- as long as you got one you will not need it. Leave it at home ONCE and you get drowned. Having a top Kicker means we will not need one to win a game.

A coworkers this morning said the same thing. If a college player misses two field goals in one game, he'd have the same game stats as Vanderjahgt, only for millions less.

What? Vandy is a weak link right now blowing 2 very makable kicks that could have cost us and made the game tighter than need be. Just because in the end we won does not change anything in regards to Vandy poor showing and he better get it together and quick.

of course, there is nothing in the college kicker's history that would suggest he could hit a very hot streak of FGs now is there?
