I don't think I've ever seen you make a real solid point. You're trying to say that Ware needs to step it up, what the hell are you expecting from the guy? 15 sacks? He's been one of our best defensive players. But I am sure I still dont get it.

If you don't like my posts, put me on ignore. Simple as that.

And it has nothing to do with EXPECTATIONS. Again, you don't understand this simple point.

I'm referring to the personal attacks......name calling etc. They will stop.

Again, hope you aren't referring to me.

I think questioning someone's intelligence is considered a personal attack, which you've done...but keep asking if he's referring to you

you're right, I don't, that's why I'm not running around, "you referring to me?", "referring to me?"

His post irrelevant.

It's called perspective, Rack. And you could use some. A pass-rushing linebacker going four or five games without a sack isn't "pathetic," it's pretty normal (as you should now realize). And other than adding to his individual sack numbers, Ware has played fairly well during the past five games -- a team-leading seven quarterback pressures (two more than Ellis), a team-leading four tackles for loss (more than any other player has in the entire season), 19 solo tackles (third on the team) and good pass coverage. And one of those QB pressures caused the interception that Henry returned for a touchdown. Personally, I'll take that over a sack any day.

Ellis has gone 4 straight games with sacks before. Was it cuz of some great presence on the other side? No.

Hell, I think he went 4 straight games with sacks last year. And he only finished with 9.

I'm not asking for 3 sacks a game, Just consistent pressure. Ware has been far from consistent.

And FYI, I'm not concerned about Ware's FUTURE. But if we are to do anything in the playoffs (or even MAKE the playoffs) the future has to come NOW. If you guys are "ok" with him not getting better till next year then you should not bother watching this year's games. I'm wanting us to do something THIS YEAR. And to do that we need better play from Ware, and our two Tackles (that's another thread/criticism that's off limits as well  ).

Have you not seen Ware's improved play vs. the running game? Making stops in the backfield and chasing down guys from behind? No, I do not have all his stats on all of that, but from what I can tell, the guy has been better than average.

I'm happy with Ware, but hope he turns it up a notch or two when it comes to getting to the QB.

And yes, Ware's presence is definitely helping Ellis on the other side. Ellis is much closer to double digit sacks and we are just past the halfway mark in the season. This has a lot to do with Ware and the D-coordinators rolling over help to defend Ware.

I thought Ware was doing well until I read this revelation of a thread. I guess we should have gotten Merriman.

you guys are missing the point, Ware needs to step it up during the playoffs, our success there rests on him, and him alone

Another person that doesn't understand the point.

It's not whether or not I think he's a bust or not doing enough. It's about what he'd need to do for us to make some "Noise" in the playoffs. Again, it's not JUST Ware (I mentioned our tackles as well), but this thread is FOCUSING on Ware. I don't understand how this is so difficult to understand.

If we were 3-8 and had no chance to make the playoffs I wouldn't of made the post. Is he doing fine for a rookie learning new defense and position? Yes. Is he gonna have to do better for us to have success in the playoffs? Yes.

Can't put it any simpler then that.

wait, didn't you begin the thread by saying his performance has been "pathetic"? and why are you just choosing to focus on Ware needing to step up his game? it's the playoffs, everyone needs to step up their games if we have a chance to do anything...

Yes, but what's that got to do with his pass rush? Oh right, nothing.

I think you do get it, you're just to stubborn to admit you were wrong in the first place.

For the second time, where did I say he rests on him alone? If you can't debate in a civilized manner, then don't bother trying to debate at all. I already said (more than once) that it's not just ware that has to step up. But THIS thread is about WARE. Want me to start another thread pointing out the OBVIOUS players that need to step up as well? A Tucker thread? A Petitti thread? A Fujita thread?

YOU DON'T GET THE POINT!! WAAA WAAAA WAAAA

but seriously, it's a team effort, everyone is going to need to play better once the playoffs start, so singling out individuals is stupid, E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E needs to step up during the playoffs

At times he has been pathetic. If you want to add "but he's a rookie" then fine, he's been great :)rolleyes: ). Did you see him against Walter Jones? That was pathetic. I wasn't expecting a sack from Ware in that game, but I thought he'd do better then how he did.
