Will you cry?

Id actually be more of a troll to Cowboys-haters. I live in NJ so I would be unbearable for months

Their tears would be my sustenance

Then why do you still bother watching? I'm not saying you should cry or anything, but what's the point of being a fan if you get no emotional satisfaction out of seeing your team win?

I think he only meant that he doesn't get emotional to the point of crying.

I'm betting he still does get happy when we win and bummed out when we lose.

Do you think you will cry when the cowboys win their 6th superbowl?

I think I will. I was always a fan of the boys growing up but im still relatively young (22) so I wasn't as invested with the team (as I am now) during the good years.

My life as a fan has been during a lot of bad seasons and heartbreak unfortunately.

I think for most it depends. Where you are, what you're seeing, reaction of the players and coaches.

I welled up a little during Jimmy's postgame speech at SF in 93.

I told my wife about this thread. She said if the Cowboys win another one she is going to take out a restraining order against me for a week. I told her sleep is over rated.

I had a dream last night that I picked off Drew Brees for a pick six to start the NFC Championship game at Cowboys Stadium.

We then went on to browbeat the Ravens in the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, but I was watching from home?

At any rate, go Cowboys.

I quit experiencing emotion about football a long time ago so I will not cry whether they win or lose but I will probably feel good for Jason Garrett's accomplishment.
Oh Lordy... you just jinxed JG. Time to find a new coach.

You must really love her! :D

My wife has to ask me how the game turned out because she can't read it on my face.

She might not have to ask when the Cowboys win their next one but I sure won't be crying.

From what I can remember, I've cried twice in recent years. Once when I broke my femur, and the 2nd time when we had to put our dog to sleep.

Cowboys winning 6th would be special, but no way will I shed a tear...

I'm a very emotional person, so yeah.

I invest my soul into the Cowboys, I think once I realized what just happened, I would go nuts.

I get it...that's a joke...right?

I would only cry if you spilled the beer.
Otherwise, crying is only for girls.

This is interesting for me to think about - how your formative years as a Cowboy fan differ from mine. The Cowboys highly successful years during your lifetime were over by the time you were about 3-6 years old - you can't have much memory of those years at all. Soon after the team went into a tailspin from which they have been trying to recover ever since. For me, at that age (3-6), the team was competing with the Packers for the NFL Championship, and by the time i was old enough to know and remember more (age 10-12) the team had been to a Super Bowl, won another Super Bowl, and then for the next 10 years was the winningest franchise in the NFL. I got a better foundation to latch onto. I did suffer through much of the 1980's, but my foundation as a fan was long set by then.

I was a pro football fan before the the Dallas Cowboys were ever formed and I did not have a favorite team then but I loved to watch the games because the football was so much better than college ball. When I moved to Dallas I became a Cowboys diehard fan for years and the Ice Bowl crushed me for a few weeks but I recovered and continued to be an emotional Cowboys fan.

When SB5 came along and they announced thye referee was Norm Schacter (?sp) I figured in advance that he would find some way to give the game to the Colts because the Boys always lost by questionable decisions every time he was the ref and sure enough, late in the game there weas a fumble recovered by Dallas but he took the ball away from Dallas and gave it to Baltimore and they went on to kick the winning field goal, I suffered great emotional trauma for months afterward.

I finally drew the inescapable conclusion that it wasn't the best team that wins but whomever the refs want to win and I determined that the only way for me to survive as a football fan was to love the game for the game itself and not care which players or team won or lost but to be independent. While the Cowboys are still my favorite team and I enjoy watching them play, it means little to me who wins or loses or why.

I simply love pro football and I realize there are times my favorite team will not win and I won't let myself become sky high or bottom out emotionally; after all, I don't play for the team.

I really loved watching the playoffs this year. I admit it, I get irritated with JJ for his bone-headed decisions and Wade, too.

I think Jerry has finally made an intelligent decision in allowing Jason Garrett to have veto power over staff and players and I think it will put the Cowboys on the right path again.

Players and teams come and go but the game remains.

Life is good.
