I honestly think we keep 4 RBs this year. If this team really wants to run the ball like they say they do then they can't go into the season with just Randle backing up Murray and Dunbar. There is every reason in the world to believe that with a substantially increased workload those two are going to have a difficult time keeping healthy for 16 games.

You just can't turn a blind eye to their injury concerns, you just can't. I'd go short at several positions before I'd go short at RB this year. They need to play it safe at this position. I think it's imperative given the rhetoric this whole offseason on running the football consistently.

If the Cowboys do not keep 4 then they need to trade either Randle or Williams for some pass rushing help. Would rather keep Williams of the 2 but do not want to cut either of these guys, rather get something in return - even if just a draft pick.

This is what I think might happen. A late conditional pick right at cutdowns.

Yes but they played special teams, I agree if all blitx pick ups being equal he is more talented than those guys but being the 3rd and 4th RB on this team means ST.

Why not keep randle and williams, whoever is better at ST so be it he plays ST

I'm surprised Dunbar is considered to be a lock.

He was impressive during his short time against the Ravens. I enjoyed watching him play.

I'm not so sure about the ST's play. I believe one of them, maybe it was Choice did not play ST's.
Picking up the blitz will be more important than playing ST's, or might be. depending on how much they may actually get in the game. But that's just my opinion only, nothing to back it up.

Yes, was thinking this after the game, with the depth at RB & WR, maybe a few trades will happen.

Yeah, that is, until Murray and Dunbar get hurt.:) Which they will. And then we will need some one who can run the ball.

Have you missed Ryan Williams career to this point? He has.

I've heard Broaddus on multiple occasions say he cannot pass block. If that's true he cannot be relied on.

^this.

Not only a lock, but a guy we are resting in the preseason!?! huh? LOL

Yeah, I don't understand it. That's almost "superstar treatment" right there, on a player who is a question mark. All 3 RBs have injury history (Murray, Dunbar, Williams) but Randle seems to be the healthiest and he looked good in the first 2 preaseason games. Dunbar should have been played more to see if he's worth keeping, I don't think his spot should have been handed to him like that. But what do I know.

Randle's game resembles Demarco Murray's. He's just not as strong and fast, but I think he fits this system well. He even has a similar build as Demarco Murray.

Dunbar is like the Darren Sproles type at best, and Darren Sproles has been on how many teams now? RBs in that mold just don't stick around. And yes, it's a huge stretch to compare him to Sproles.

But he's the 2nd best pure running back on the roster and your starter has durability issues.

If the plan is to get rid of Murray, then Dunbar should be on his way out IMO.. Unless you keep 4 RBs.

Randle and Williams are better suited to take over.

In the past they kept guys like Choice and Tanner. Williams is way better than those guys.

Every time I hear Tashards name......I want to punch Michael Vick in the throat. Weird, huh?

Let him return kicks, it would be hard to worse than Randle at it

We already have a probowl return man -- Dwayne Harris.

Williams would have to make tackles or something, if special teams is the deciding factor.

i don't think either gives you much on special teams. thats going to be, along with wr, a big tough decision come cut time. i think williams is a better runner than randle and he would be better if murray went down for a long period. but ideally to be active for a game the 3rd rb has to do something on special teams so this is gonna be a tough one. i don't see us carrying 4, especially because neither do much on special teams
