Wisdom teeth

Anyone ever had to have them pulled? How was it?

Yeah, I had three of them pulled about 7 years ago. They put me to sleep. It wasn't bad at all.

Taking the stitches out was the worst part, but it wasn't unbearable.

I had all four of mine pulled at the same time. I don't remember any of it. I was asleep the whole time.

Aren't stitches supposed to come off naturally?

Well these definitely weren't, but I have heard of those.

Ask to be put to sleep. I wouldn't want to be awake for that.

I had two teeth pulled before I got braces and it was one of the most excruciating things I've ever endured.

Same here. My face was so swollen for a few days after, but the painkillers were excellent.

I hate dentists in general, the whole process is just torture.

I'm going to have to get four wisdom teeth pulled soon, I have no desire to be awake for it.

I had a tooth pulled once and it was in bad shape, didn't come out in one piece and it actually wasn't that bad. I thought it would be a lot worse than it was, but the dentist must have been good.

Even afterwards, the pain wasn't bad. The worst part is not being able to eat steak for a little while. I love me some steak!

I can't have that. My face is my livelihood!!

I had them pulled a couple years ago. GOOD LUCK trying to eat. :laugh2: They also gave me some sort of syringe to fill with salt water for cleaning.

Calm down ..... I am sure that your wisdom teeth are very small.

Very small.

If you are only getting one or two of them pulled, I would suggest a local anesthetic which is the way I had mine done. If you are going for all four, I would suggest the general anesthetic.

I actually enjoyed being put to sleep. It was just cool to feel yourself slowly drift away.

Mine were impacted and had to be cut out and shattered so they could be removed. But the Vicodin was great. :)

I had the exact same situation - I lived with them for 10 years but then my fiancee insisted I get the impacted ones pulled before our wedding. Darn things were growing in sideways under the gums.

Aren't you some kind of doctor?

It burns when I tinkle. Any advice?

Tussin.

Rub that tussin in nice and good. Let it get all the way down to the bone.
