With Dalton Gallup will be utilized to the fullest

He can make throws Dak can't, let's he real.

Romo went down, he came in, didn't blink or she'd a tear.

This happens, Dalton will lead us deep into the playoffs. He will use the weapons better.

people already bash Coop when he doesn't get the ball, wonder why they're not as emotional with Gallup when he doesn't.

The amount of bashing a player gets seems to be directly proportional to getting paid.

Elliott got paid, let's bash him on every negative play. Lawrence got paid, let's bash him on every negative play. Cooper got paid ... Jaylon got paid ...

The players who take the most abuse around here are the ones making the most money.

Dalton is better than his playoff record indicates. Marvin Lewis took over the Bengals in 2003 and won the division twice (2005 and 2009) before 2010. Both time he was bounced at the wild card game. Dalton came along in 2011 and The Bengals won the division 5 times in a row. Dalton started 4 of those losing each time. In 2015 he injured his hand missing the last three games and the playoff game.

Yet he holds the Bengals records for:
  • Completions: playoff game (29 on January 5, 2014 against the San Diego Chargers), rookie season (300 in 2011)
  • Pass attempts: season (586 in 2013), playoff game (51 on January 5, 2014 against the San Diego Chargers), rookie season (516 in 2011)
  • Passing yards: season (4,293 in 2013), rookie season (3,398 in 2011)
  • Passing TDs: season (33 in 2013), rookie season (20 in 2011)
  • Intercepted: playoffs (6), playoff season (3 in 2011), playoff game (3 on January 7, 2012 against the Houston Texans)
  • Passer rating: career (89.1)
  • Sacked: season (46 in 2012)
  • Pass yds/game: career (238.9)
  • 300+ yard passing games: season (6 in 2013), rookie season (2; with Carson Palmer)
  • 4,000+ passing yard seasons: career (2; with Carson Palmer)
Marvin Lewis is 0-7 in the play-offs which makes you wonder if the fault is at QB or the coaches game preparation.

And that is your choice.

Gallup is a stud apparently no matter who is throwing the ball two him. Two monster catches in the clutch.

I thought the way he caught that pass was kind of telling about a difference in how Dalton throws it vs. how Dak does. Dalton put so much air under it to give Gallup a chance to settle under it and go up and get it. Instead, Gallup jumped early and had to catch it coming down. Dak's deep ball passes are more like any other pass where he tries to put it on the receiver rather than relying on the receiver to outphysical the corner. I think we'll see more true 50/50 balls with Dalton and find out if our receivers are able to win those on a regular basis. (The other aspect of it is you can draw pass interference with those kinds of throws because the receiver will go to jump for the ball and the DB running all out after him will often run into him.)

Not advocating that one style of throwing that pass is better than the other, just pointing out the difference.

Dalton will lead us deep into the playoffs, the guy who is 0-5 averaging 10 pts per game in the playoffs

Since when does "immediately" mean several drives since entering the game, and two of the last few plays in said game?

At any rate I hope Dalton plays well and the OL protects him.

Hammer meet nail.

Players are bums if they get their pay day and have an off game or make a mistake.

pretty overtly obvious as to why this is too.

wait, you want to tell me that losses are coaches fault? not the player....hmmm, interesting. I thought 2019 was the only year that counted...you mean other years count too? wow....mind blown
(sarcasm fully intended)

I'm on record as not at all a Cooper fan....but he ought to play most of the snaps.

There was a time...I'm thinking late 1st Q....he wasnt on the field at all, and I dont know why.

There was no explanation. Im not trashing the dude but why wasnt he out there? Serious question

Needs to be asked. One Cowboys drive had Cooper and Lamb both on the bench in favor of Wilson and Brown. We did score the TD I believe.

Or even get injured. Apparently, they are supposed to be able to shake those off or play great despite injuries simply because of what they are getting paid.

LOL! Marvin Lewis was the Jason Garrett before Jason Garrett! He left Cincy in 2018 with a 15 year .518 winning percentage. Not picking on him, after all it was the Bengals he was coaching.

In order to maximizwe need to use zeke to his fullest potential.
If we can protect Dalton he does have a better arm than Dak.
It's not going to be about protecting Andy. It's about protecting a lead. Luckily defense held up today inspired by Daks situation. Hopefully they keep it up or Dalton will be the next player people turn on.

I have a feeling if we can protect Dalton then we can attack more areas of the field with him.

Absolutely. Dalton can make a lot of throws that Dak probably doesn't try. If Dak had Daltons arm he would be worth any amount he asked for. The problem is the only thing that Andy is better at then Dak is passing. Everything else Dak is better. If we give Dalton time he has a chance. That's a big IF though. Guess we will all see.
