How is 16 months a lot of patience? So many act like Matt Johnson has been on the team for 5 years or something.

When it comes to patience, in our microwave society, 16 months has become an eternity.

Sixteen months is also an eternity in the NFL.

Unfortunately, that's true. Leads to a lot of short term thinking and constant change. Sometimes that's necessary. Others it's better to stay the course.

I'm as optimistic as anyone but 16 months out of work means a lot specifically in the NFL. Which means (N)ot (F)or (L)ong especially when you're not seeing the field on a regular basis.

Low risk, high reward.

He'll be a good presence in the locker room as well if it gets done.

Not worth the money, IMO. Maybe if he was younger and had played last season. ...

I'd like to hear on how Livings is making out from the scope.

IF he and Cowboys think this scope solved the issue AND he's capable of playing in game 1 vs the Giants (yeah lots of ifs and maybes here) then he would make a good #3 guard and the hunt for another guard can probably stop. But we're not hearing much on the Livings situation.

The other thing I'm not clear about is Livings contract and what is guaranteed this season. If Livings could be cut prior to the start of the season and the team saved some money then maybe it would be a good idea signing Waters (if he had a reasonable asking price) or say Carlisle Cooper who played for Oakland last season.

I wouldn't be against this. I know people think PFF is a joke, but Livings rated pretty well last season. I think he's one of our "5 best" linemen. The only question is would he adjust to RG right away? He's always been a LG.
