Who would you tank for? Only value I see is gaining a top pick and then trading down. QB won't be on the table for the Cowboys the next couple of years.

Bingo. That is always the #1 goal of any team as it is very hard to win in the NFL without one. Not to mention, CD's deal. If you wanted to really tank, then don't extend either and start over. Trade Parsons and when you are tanking, no point in giving someone like him a huge deal.

The worst thing is to do all that and now faced with this dilemma. And no point in drafting a QB high that won't play since you want to take advantage of the cheaper 4-5 years where you can build around that. And then you absolutely won't bench a $60 million QB.

DontGimmeTheBall because i love to quit.
 
Our best chance is in 2-3 years when Arch Manning will go #1 overall and Dak will be on the final year of his deal. But will we be the worst team in the league at that time?
 
How about NEVER! Tanking is for Losers, and I don’t mean people who lose games, but people who have no spine.
 
This would’ve worked beautifully if they didn’t resign Dak. Premier picks the next two years, but with Dak we are trapped beating up bad teams and losing to winning teams. We are in the purgatory of ‘best of the worst’

And the experts here say "we already have Dak for 4 years!
But, kind louts, under normal NFL management, you draft for a QB lad and prepare him maybe 2-3 years.
But here at CZ the expectation for a future QB is nil.
When Dak slows, what will our game play be? An elder Rush?

Calling for a tank is quitting. It’s the definition of quitting. You can’t even be honest with yourself.
 
..have you seen rest of NFC play out? Every team is bottling out. Every team is showing major deficiencies.

Dallas is still this by long shot. We hope they get descent replacements on DL. At least until Micah is back in couple weeks, maybe.

You jsut signed Dak and Ceedee to massive deal. Why would you think about tanking with both dudes healthy? Threads is premature .

We’ve had worse situations at dline than this. The 2014 defensive line was probably less talented than this one even with the injuries.
