With our DEs out, if we don't tank now in 2024, when?

Silly Silvio!
When one thinks what is ahead in the meat of the schedule and then consider a revamped and tough Commodes and an angry Eagles, well I am believing tha tanking will be a natural process, anyway.

C'mon mild men of the pigiron , we talk a lot about tanking.
But this is the perfect time go tank with our DEs out and a lame buck coach and a bad Defence that last Thursday got a lot worse.
It will be brutal into November.
Tank. Now.
With the just now signing of DE, KJ Henry, a JAG off of the Bengals practice squad, your dream of tanking this season might come true.

Drivel.

As a DC he created one of the best defenses that won Super Bowls for the Giants.

His defenses were always elite and Tom had nothing to do with that. Totally shut down the Greatest Show on Turf in the Super Bowl. Totally shut down McVeigh's flying high Rams offense. I could go on for days.

Is he a great offensive mind? No. But he knows how to teach special teams and defense and he instills amazing discipline and team culture.
All of this sounds like he should have been our D-coordinator instead of Zimmer, which I would have been all for. My biggest fear about Zimmer was taking away the play-making of the CBs in favor of technique, and that seems to be proving true.

If we make a coaching change I'd rather go with someone like Kubiak rather than an old retread.

Why would we tank with them being out? If anything we're not good with them IN

At this point in time I cannot remotely fathom Bilichick taking a defensive coordinator position. He's going to report to a coaching boss at this point? The Goat is going to be HC or nothing.

It's a good time to make these coaches install a plan for the younger guys to succeed. You can not simply ask an undrafted rookie to replace a savy veteran on the fly. Coaches need a plan to put them in position to succeed vs their 1 on 1 battles.

Agreed. I'd rather go younger though myself.

You just never know...if they win against Pitt and then go get a rb, find something to best the lions and are 4-2 at the break would you not be happy?

Play it out the next 2 weeks...if were staring down the barrel ar SF, Atl and philly and were at 2-4 then go ahead and start the tank should they get to 2-6 or 2-7

I'd be thrilled if that happens. The way I see it, split the next two weeks, and split the two games after a bye, and we got a shot.
