Another point on which we agree. 2012 must really be the end of days!

do those rules serve a purpose or are they just about control?
that guy you referred to yapping at the young guy, was that not just a power trip?
CanadianCowboysFan;4594723 said:"According to Military Spouse Central, public displays of affection -- even something as innocuous as holding hands -- are not allowed while wearing a military uniform. Also forbidden while in uniform: eating, drinking, or talking on a cell phone while walking, carrying an umbrella that's not black, and (in some cases) smoking or even chewing gum."

What if instead of breastfeeding, she was promoting prayer? It would be fun just to watch the inner turmoil you would face trying to pick a side with that one

a_minimalist;4596071 said:Do you think rape within the military is okay because men need to be full of testosterone and ready to fight at any time? You sound like one of those guys.
ScipioCowboy;4596080 said:Yeah, because that's what he said.
a_minimalist;4596089 said:Did I say that's what he said? I asked him a question. I haven't jumped to any conclusions...yet.
Is that all from you?

That's not an accusation?
Of all the posters on this board, you go from 0 to absurd in the least amount of time.
a_minimalist;4596101 said:Unfortunately, I don't think I've ever seen anything from you worth reading or at least remembering so I can't comment on your posting habits like you've done with me.
I asked him a question and told him he sounded like one of those guys, yes. If I didn't think I could be wrong I wouldn't have asked him a question first. If that's 0 to absurd to you, so be it. The fact that you think that means nothing to me though, sorry.
ScipioCowboy;4596108 said:It's absolutely absurd to me. Intimating that someone might support rape based on an opinion they express about breastfeeding is, in fact, beyond absurd.
And I hope it would be absurd to, at least, ninety percent of the people reading this thread.
AbeBeta;4596054 said:BTW - I did a little research on the "campaign" that this was part of. It is Facebook support group for breastfeeding mothers and wives of those serving at a particular base. So it isn't like this is some sort of national "change people's minds" thing. It is among people who CHOOSE to be part of a support group for breastfeeding.
I expect you could find similar support groups -- likely with pictures of people in uniform -- for members of AA, different religious groups, etc.
So in that context, the "controversy" seems to be a bit more about the boob than anything else
