Wonder if Romo would be less turnover prone if he is put back in the starting lineup?

Knowing he is now in competition with another QB on the team may just have him playing mistake free football. Two years ago there was no one to compete with so he was able to make those high risk/high reward plays since he knew it was not a better option on the team.

I honestly believe competition makes a person play better when he knows he can lose the job at any time.

Kind of like how Steve Young stepped his game up when he knew Joe Montana was watching.

BTW: I am in no way comparing Romo to Joe just giving an example of how competition makes a QB play on a higher level.

34 td 9 int his last full season
Not really much of a concern to me
The only question with Tony is can he take a hit and if he gets back on the field I don't think Dak will be looking over his shoulder since to me the only way he gets back is if Dak is injured

Nope, he is who he is, and he'll always throw INT's at the least opportune time. Good thing is, we're done with him holding the team back! #teamDak

Let's run the a 2 Qb formation. Romo to the left of the Center. Dak to the right. And Zeke in the pistol. Fred beard hikes the ball to the Qb of his choice...;)

I don't know/care. Until Dak shows me he isn't ready for the bright lights he keeps his job.

In Romo's last 36 starts (which include 2013-2015 with two playoff games) he has 74 TDs to just 26 Ints. That's nearly a 3 to 1 TD to Int ratio. The teams record in that time is 24-12. That includes the poor game in game 1 2014 versus the 49ers and the 2015 game on Thanksgiving against Carolina.

He cleaned up his turnovers and is not a turnover prone player. The guy really developed as a player but out of sight out of mind I guess.

I want this team to dominate and win games, then go into the playoffs where they win games and titles. If Romo is capable then I want Romo. If Romo can't then give me a developmental guy like Dak who will carry for years to come.

Simple as that.

I thought about this as well. In '14, he had one of his best overall statistical years and although he was brilliant, our offense was so balanced and dominant on the ground.

I feel he could come in with Zeke and do the same thing and possibly open up the offense even more because of his experience.

Only thing is..do you want to fix what's not broken...?

Add in fumbles as well as sacks taken. All negative plays if we want to compare him and Rayne

The simple answer is no. Romo is a gunslinger who will take risks. Dak is a rookie who will go thru his progressions and if nothings there will take off running, while Romo will force something or ake the sack. Thats what we've seen from him his whole career

5 fumbles in 36 games from 2013 to 2015. Not comparing him to Prescott as this post was about Romo and being less turnover prone.

Sacks taken isn't a bad thing at times. Knowing when to live to see another day. Limits turnovers.

True, but Dak can avoid sacks much better than Romo. We have so many positive plays with Dak. I have enjoyed the calmness of watching this Dallas team that I didn't even feel in 2014. Were like a machine with Dak

Ya, ONLY Tony was holding the team back from winning super bowl after super bowl. The other players are super human and never made mistakes in a game to hold the team back.

He has his bad moments but most of the time his INT come when he's pressing as the team is behind and riding on his shoulders so he had little choice but to press and try to make spectacular plays. Furthermore, he's had no D to rely on to get the ball back for extra possession.

Once A gunslinger always a gunslinger. He'll revert back to his old ways as soon as the heat is on him again.
