Wonder if Romo would be less turnover prone if he is put back in the starting lineup?

The simple answer is no. Romo is a gunslinger who will take risks. Dak is a rookie who will go thru his progressions and if nothings there will take off running, while Romo will force something or ake the sack. Thats what we've seen from him his whole career
You mean a career with exception for 1-2 yrs in which he has been surrounded by sub par talent and he's the only chance for us to win games. So he presses to come from behind?

Knowing he is now in competition with another QB on the team may just have him playing mistake free football. Two years ago there was no one to compete with so he was able to make those high risk/high reward plays since he knew it was not a better option on the team.

I honestly believe competition makes a person play better when he knows he can lose the job at any time.

Kind of like how Steve Young stepped his game up when he knew Joe Montana was watching.

BTW: I am in no way comparing Romo to Joe just giving an example of how competition makes a QB play on a higher level.

No...no...no....PLEASE!

You bought the completely false narrative hook line and sinker on Romo and I know you're better than that and by the way you SHOULD compare him to Montana and Young!

Romo's INT% is the same as Montana and Young and better than Roethlisberger, Aikman, Marino and Elway.

He is less turnover prone than the average fan can ever know and I know you are not average!

C'mon man!

In Romo's last 36 starts (which include 2013-2015 with two playoff games) he has 74 TDs to just 26 Ints. That nearly a 3 to 1 TD to Into ratio. The teams record in that time is 24-12. That includes the poor game in game 1 2014 versus the 49ers and the 2015 game on Thanksgiving against Carolina.

He cleaned up his turnovers and is not a turnover prone player. The guy really developed as a player but out of sight out of mind I guess.

Once A gunslinger always a gunslinger. He'll revert back to his old ways as soon as the heat is on him again.

Remind me how many years out of Tony's career has he had "The Wall + Zeke"? Right.... last time he had a line and a RB he went 12-4 and was close to league MVP.

He has his bad moments but most of the time his INT come when he's pressing as the team is behind and riding on his shoulders so he had little choice but to press and try to make spectacular plays. Furthermore, he's had no D to rely on to get the ball back for extra possession.
2013 Green Bay. 2012 Detroit. Let's not get selective amnesia now. And games like that are why Dak for the moment keeps his job. I don't have to hang on the edge of my seat for potential nonsense anymore. Just dominant football. I'm not into playing favorites.

Thing is Romo has little training camp, no practice and hasn't played in a game since last thanksgiving. Sorry but Romo isn't the answer right now when we are 7-1. You can't get better then what Dak is doing right now. Ride Dak

I think they'll both be turnover prone if asked to throw 40+ times for 300-350+ yards similar to the games being mentioned. Most qb's not named Peyton or Brady will be. Since he changed his approach in '09, the only season where he really had a lot of interceptions was 2012.

As far as the here and now, I think Tony will want to play at his usual level. That's just human nature. It will take time to get to that point, if he can reach it. We'll see.

My suggesion to Garrett is to just cut out the middle man, put in an extra blocker, and direct snap the ball to Zeke on the first play every game. That way, when asked "the question", he can accurately say "neither!" And then Zeke can say "It's *my* team now, ******s.

When exactly is a good time to throw interceptions?

I never compared my QB to Montana. Just gave his numbers over his last 36 games. Which show he isn't "turnover prone". His 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio on his career show it as well.

Please use someone else as an example. Don't use Joe. Please

He had a line and rb in 2013. maybe we make the playoffs if he doesn't screw up AT HOME vs Green Bay led by MATT FLYNN

2007 he had Witten, TO, Marion Barber, flozell, Columbo, Davis, Ware, James , Canty, Spears , Ratliff, Henry, Ellis , Roy Williams (ss) Miles Austin.ect. What did we win?

People act like Tony was Ryan Leaf, it's ridiculous. He was NEVER the weak point on this team. He gave this team the best chance to win through his whole time as the starter. Dak is obviously the future of the team but it's incredible how fans can have such short memories of the great things Tony did. He gave the team hope when there was none. You can love Dak and love Tony.

Interception % for number of passes (Career):

Joe Montana 2.6%
Tony Romo 2.7%
Steve Young 2.7%
Ben Roethlisberger 2.8%
Troy Aikman 3.0%
Dan Marino 3.0%
John Elway 3.1%

He is pretty much right for the stat he was citing. It's technically less that .1% (Note I only looked up the names he used). And he stated he was comparing that one stat since the premise of the OP was throwing interceptions.

People really seem to want to put Romo down for all the woes this team's had over the last decade when in all honesty he wasn't even one of its top 5 of issues. Sure he has made some mistakes, but not in the amount some people seem to "remember".

That said, if Dak is working (which he is), we should roll with it.

I don't think many people think Dak should be replaced by romo. That's not even what the op is about. Some just don't feel the need to bash romo to praise Dak

Exactly right - thanks for checking on that for me.
