A huge percentage of today's current problems are a direct result of the aftermath and negotiations after WWI. They flubbed that treaty up so badly that it's still causing wars, troubles, etc.
So true. Woodrow Wilson knew it with his 14 Points of Peace but the European countries wanted revenge since it happened on their soil and brushed his concerns aside.

What I think is amazing is how we built Japan and Germany into two of the world's greatest modern superpowers and allies to boot.

Considering the Koreas, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc, it's basically the only 20th century nation building we ever succeeded in.

Japan and Germany are not Superpowers, they are vassals. There are only 3 Superpowers.
