Even if you were intent on throwing the ball for whatever stupid reason, you don't go with THAT route. You throw another fade to Matthews, you run play action, you roll Wilson out. Not a play where you're basically just chucking and praying that the WR is open

They've gone with that play near the goal line a lot this year, and had a lot of success with it. Yeah, I would have run it. Since it didn't work, you can question anything and everything about it.

I just watched the play and it was a horrible throw by Wilson. Play could have worked.

Who cares if it was a horrible throw or not? That's not the play you call when your life is on the line "so to speak". You go out with Murray if you're the Cowboys, and you go out with Beast Mode if you're the birds. And by the way, Belicheat was stupid for not calling time outs under a minute, had Beast Mode scored, Belicheat would be run out of Boston.

Says the guy who just said "I don't care how I won it, I just want to win it."

The play call was the first mistake. The throw the second.
Eh, it was a fine play call. If the ball had been thrown properly in one of the easiest throws you can ask for, it's a touchdown. He had clear vision and a nice throwing lane. Wilson just choked.

Wow. That's just a horrendous decision.

To think, had they ran the ball people would be wondering why Belichick didn't call a timeout.

That was actually running through my head right before Wilson snapped it.

I agree. A little tiny part of me could see us making that stupid call in 2013. Glad we are more committed to the run now.

Except when it was 3rd and 1 in the Green Bay game up 14-7 right before half and we line up shotgun and heave it towards the endzone.

At the end he was on the bench watching his team lose, if not for the CB and just pure stupidity out of the Hawks they lose.
For this game I have a hard time saying he was the MVP.

Wow. I don't even know what to say to this.

Brady led his team back from a 10pt deficit in the 4th. He threw 4 TDs. He had his team rolling and was up 14-7. Not his fault the defense gave up a TD on an 80yd drive in 27 seconds. Or after giving his team a 4pt lead with 2min, the defense again lets them drive down 79 yards very quick.

You are crazy to think some corner who makes only one play the whole game gets the MVP. By your logic, David Tyree should have gotten the MVP as well as Vinateri in NE's first 2 Super Bowls.

What does Brady on the bench have to do with anything? He did his job.

No argument for 99% of this post. Just not THIS game. Brady was sulking on the sideline. He knew they lost like 99% of the millions watching the game.
He had nothing to do with the final big play. He got MVP because of his name on this one.

Yeah it had nothing to do with throwing 4 TDs in a Super Bowl or leading your team to 2 TDs in the final part of the 4th quarter.

Yeah, nothing to do with that at all. Just name only.

You are sounding real dumb right about now.

Didn't Tom Landry make a similar call against the Packers in the NFL Championship in like, 1966?

imagine this place with garrett, linehan and romo what we'd be feeling and saying

I'm stunned, because I could see Garrett making that exact same call (he's done it plenty of times in regular season games) and giving the exact same excuse Carroll gave after the game.

I thought Carroll was above that, but I was wrong.

It's one thing to lose, it's another thing to completely give it away. Just so unbelievable, glad not to be a Seahawk fan right now.
I just kept saying "What were they thinking!!!??"

So much fail!

Really dumb call, poor execution by the QB, and a great play by the DB.

But I'm shocked at how much of a pass Wilson is getting for that last drive. He was very, very careless on more than one pass, and that game-ender was just a really bad decision.

Even more surprising for the OC to come out and say it was the WR who should have been stronger to that ball. Uh, not really. You shouldn't have called such a stupid play, and your QB should have thrown a better ball. You gave away the Superbowl with the best short yardage back in football sitting on his hands at the 6 inch line.

Gonna be interesting to see how the Seahawks come back from this. If they come back from it. With some of the rumors going around re: the feelings in that locker room in the first place.

I was pretty impressed with how Carroll handled himself right after the game, though. I want to hate that guy, but I actually like him quite a bit.
