It was just the pass play, it was a pass right into the heart of the defense. No out route, no pass to Matthews on the fade since he was burning his man all day, but a throw where you crowd two WRS making it easier to defend..

I wonder if it was a package play and Wilson decided to throw it. Can't imagine a coach calling a throw there.

Brady is the MVP in my mind and it's not even close.

I have so much respect for that guy.

We've got thousands of posts here on CZ of Cowboys fans whining and worrying about how the Cowboys could even possibly consider letting their all-world WR (Dez) go in free agency and how the team would be making a huge mistake letting their 1800 RB (Murray) go, etc etc....

Brady has two tiny white possession WRs to throw to and a the leader rusher on his team ran for 412 yards this season. Their OL is average at best...... and Brady just WINS.

He is the Superbowl MVP and is making a strong case for being the GOAT QB in NFL history....

OL is average? Like I said before, their scheme is a short passing game that relies on a lot of picking and as Wade Phillips said, they block a lot when the ball is in the air. What masks it is they throw quickly. It's primarily because of the rules that allow it to happen, plus it pushes the edge of what legal. Phillips said when they allow this to happen, especially on screens it's almost impossible to defend. It's why Brady also is in shot-gun a lot for spacing. Brady makes plenty of dumb throws of he gets pressure on him. The two INTs he had today were a clear example of it. The guy is almost always working with a clean pocket so I don't know how anyone can say they have an average OL.

People keep saying Brady works with WRs, but did you see how many times theses average WR were open on these short routes? You can't ignore scheme..

Carroll is going to take the fall. I think he's one of the coaches that lets his coordinators coach.

Why is Lynch a thug? Back to thread topic. It is absolutely the worst call I've ever seen, but the Garrett call to deep to Dez on 4th down was right up there with this one.

Lynch is portrayed that way by many who don't know him. I was being sarcastic.

And I do think there's a TINY part of the Seahawks thinking that was influenced by the marketing aspect of it all. Your decision will last forever. Who do you want to be the Super Bowl hero, your QB or your RB?

It's no secret that Lynch is NOT the media-friendly type that will say/do all the right things after such a moment. In fact, he might grab his crotch (again) and completely punk reporters (again). Wilson, on the other hand, will say/do all the right things.

Or maybe I'm way off-base and it was just an awful decision with no rhyme or reason behind it. :)

I don't get the live for Wilson. That whole offense is limited because of him.
He won the game two weeks ago, but he also threw 4 INTs.

I bet you this may possibly cause resentment with respect to the defense with that call.

No. Confirmed after the game the coaches called it. No check option.

Which shows why Wilson is over-rated. Elite QBs are given a check option. Romo can go run or pass based on formations. How often do you see Wilson audibling and changing plays?

Why would people pay this guy so much money and have a limited offense?

Does anyone know for sure if the call came from Wilson or from upstairs?

You can slam Wilson all you want, but he's a young QB who has a Super Bowl title and a second super bowl appearance. So I wouldn't mind calling Romo stupid if he could at least get us there. No knock on Romo.

Don't care what Defense the Pats were in Carroll can't trust his O-Line and One of the best RB's in the NFL to get enough push to get into the endzone from the one yard line? Yeah sometimes Goal line stands happen where teams get stopped when they try to run the ball but you still go out and make the opposing D PROVE that they can stop you on the goal line. Especially if you have more than one chance to run it in.

He's a very good player, and he's playing quarterback at a good time to play the position. Having a qb is a luxury in this day and age, so even less successful guys get big contracts.

He still has one ring and a lot of growing. He's going to make a boatload.

This is called "getting too cute" or "over-thinking it". It's like the, "he knows that I know that he knows...so I'll do something else." We've seen Jason Garrett do this prior to this season many times. Just imagine if that had been the Cowboys making that call. Reminds me of the Switzer running Emmitt straight into the line 4 times scenario.
